Now, I find myself shacked up with my fake boyfriend Beale Goodman, Whispering Key’s most adorable, most enormous, most virginal cinnamon roll - a guy who rescues feral cats, believes in soulmates, and talks about happiness like it’s free for the taking. What’s a four-letter word for an utterly oblivious, totally commitment-phobic, heartbreakingly gorgeous man with a pet pig named Bernadette? That’d be D-U-N-N, as in Dunn Johnson, my very best pal and fishing buddy since I moved to Licking Thicket. What’s a six-letter word for a nerdy, crossword-loving town doctor who’s doomed to be hopelessly, thoroughly, irrevocably, in love with that straight best friend for the rest of his born days? That’s T-U-C-K-E-R, as in me.

"Look out for Zach, and don't hit on him." My brother's request sounds easy enough. Keep an eye out for his best friend on campus and keep my hands to myself. Easy. Even if Zach is a quintessential nerd, who I've always thought was cute, I don't have the time to think with my...stick. There's only one stick I should be focused on this year, and that's my hockey stick. My goal once I graduate is to get an NHL contract. The last thing I need is a distraction. On or off the ice. Only, keeping to the rules is harder than I thought it would be.

I didn’t mean to stow away on the yacht, I swear. My first mistake was going home with the jerk at the bar, but in my defense, Prescott said he owned the Worthington - 90 feet of sleek, yachty perfection - and if I could get the chief mate’s job, I’d have an excuse to stay on board and keep avoiding my family and my future. How was I supposed to know he was the owner’s cheating, gold-digging almost brother-in-law, or that I’d end up stuffed in a closet when the ship left the harbor?

But it’s what happened to me. When I bump into my cheating ex and catch sight of the moon-sized rock on her finger, there’s only one option to save face: pretend to be dating my gay best friend, Declan. I came to Whispering Key for a job. That was all. To show the world Mason Bloom could be more than a small-town doctor living a medium-sized life. Private doctor on a swanky island with a posh resort? Check. But from the moment I set foot on this island, nothing went according to plan. And I definitely didn’t expect Fenn Reardon, the island’s incredibly attractive, incredibly infuriating, incredibly male resident tour guide, to become the one person I can’t live without.

Story
Ex-Special Forces Communications Sergeant Jacopo “Jack” Constantino heads the cybersecurity at Four Kings Security, working with his tech-savvy team to provide clients with state-of-the-art security systems. But life for Jack is pretty uneventful — despite the exploits with his brothers-in-arms — and he finds himself longing for a little more excitement.
Publisher's Summary
Two hot guys. One desert island.
Even if it means quitting their boy band mid-tour, Troy Tanner isn't going to watch his little brother snort his future away after addiction destroyed their father. On a private jet taking him home from Australia, he and pilot Brian Sinclair soar above the vast South Pacific. Brian lost his passion for flying - and joy in life - after a traumatic crash, but now he and Troy must fight to survive when a cyclone strikes without warning.
Marooned a thousand miles from civilization, the turquoise water and white sand beach look like paradise. But although they can fish and make fire, the smallest infection or bacteria could be deadly. When the days turn into weeks with no sign of rescue, Troy and Brian grow closer - and friendship deepens into desire.
As they learn sexuality is about more than straight or gay and discover their true selves, the world they've built together is thrown into chaos. If Troy and Brian make it off the island, can their love endure?
Contains mature themes.

One of the best narrators in the business
This is one of those unique stories that you will re-read regularly. This story is more than just a romance, it is a story of survival.
Troy and Brian each have their own tragedies in their past, both are damaged and need solace. But this book is extremely slow burn. Troy and Brian save each other in the crash and move from acquaintances to friends to lovers.
It is as friends that they remain for a large section of this book, it is their survival that takes precedence for much of the story; their feelings slowly developing for each other. The fact that they both previously identified as straight means that there are a lot of 'WTH' moments, and this only makes the story feel more natural.
Would either of them explored their bisexuality without the intense circumstances they find themselves in? Who knows. But the experience shapes them, permanently, and what results is a beautiful slow bi-awakening.
This book is emotional, and certain scenes brought tears to my eyes, but it is also a light book, there are many funny moments and laughter in the snarky banter between Troy and Brian.
The narrator, Greg Boudreux, has the ability to bring characters to life. He did an amazing job bringing the full rollercoaster of emotions to life. To me, he has a captivating voice and each character is so individual that even if the story doesn't indicate who is speaking, you can tell instantly. Everyone has a unique voice.
I'd listen to anything by Greg Boudreux, but combining him with a Keira Andrews book is just a recipe for perfection!

An awesome execution of a tricky plot
I could rave for hours but I'll sum up:
This plot had the potential to crash and burn bad. 2 hetero men stranded on an island... I predicted stupid, superficial, lust-fueled, fake-love (I hate sex-becomes-love plots, they feel so fake). but I was pleasantly surprised. the friendship is very firmly established and they have a strong, mature emotional connection that can easily be seen to go beyond "trauma bonding", before sex is even considered.
I also thought the very risky sexual-awakening/bisexual/gfy minefield was very well navigated.
The story also showed a lot of research had been done, instead of superficially glossing over details. so that's another plus.
The narration was awesome (as always, thankyou Greg, you're awesome).
And there's plenty more, but I'll leave it there. worth the read.

Loved this one
Gah! I swear I can’t count how many times I’ve said, “I don’t really like GFY” - but this is Keira Andrews & Greg Boudreaux, so I snagged it. And I loved it. Slooooww burn, but so well done. With a plane crash this has a great thriller/suspense aspect to create tension. It’s a nice mix of Brian & Troy fighting the elements, mourning their pasts, bearing their souls, joking and laughs, and beginning to love each other. It’s absolutely fiction, but so *real* at the same time.
I love Greg Boudreaux as a narrator. Honestly, there were a few times where I wish he had better differentiated Brian & Troy’s voices - but still a solid narration.

Wow
This book kept me riveted throughout the whole story. I enjoyed the similarities to the movie castaway but it was also so very different. The storyline kept me laughing out loud every once in a while. It was very well written and I thought it was one of his best books. Ok

Not for me, unfortunately.
I can get behind a good GFY most of the time. I liked Kick At The Darkness by Ms. Andrews and I’m a fan of the whole stranded on a deserted island thing, too. However, this just didn’t work for me. It was extremely slow moving and not even exciting enough to hold my attention. I didn’t find either character that likable and was definitely not interested in finding out what happened to them (and quit listening after 4.5 hours. I didn’t even really buy the whole GFY thing either. It came out of the blue for both and before you knew it, they were making out and going at it 24/7. It’s not a bad thing (I prefer even more steam in my books, actually) but it was kind of a blah scenario. Very little UST in the lead up and very little else happening. The whole thing just didn’t mesh for me. I can’t really complain about Greg Boudreaux, although I wish the voices for Troy and Brian had been switched around. I can’t say for sure that would have helped, but maybe.

Heartwrenching and heartwarming
I love this book. I've read it several times. Keira Andrews write such amazing stories. I was very happy listening to the audio book narrated by my favorite narrator Greg Boudreaux/Tremblay.
What Troy and Brian went through on that island was heartwrenching to be a part of, but their love warmed my heart.
Highly recommend.

Great book and great actor
This is such a good book! I read the print version before and this is the first time I’ve listened to the audio. Kiera Andrews once again makes you think you are right there with the characters. She writes the beauty and danger of this place so well. Not to mention the story is dead sexy. I love these characters. Their relationship grows so beautifully. The characters seem so real with their strengths and flaws. At first you cant help but think it’s stupid that Troy is in a boy band, but she brings a really great dimension to that world. And Brian is so wonderful with his strength, his guilt and his layers. And Troy’s mom is just awesome! I feel like I know her. Actually I think I do know her. I think Kiera Andrew’s took my friend’s mom and put her right on the page.
The actor did a GREAT job on the voices in Beyond the Sea. A Plus!

Enjoyable, in a light easy read way
I enjoyed listening to this. It was a lighter read that didn’t grab me and immerse me in the read as much as some, but enjoyable all the same.
As far as being marooned on a desert island romance book goes, found it better than On the Island by Tracey Garvis Graves, which other people seem to love more than me. But it’s not as good as Surviving Raine by Shay Savage which I really enjoyed and has a lot more grit. Both those books are m/f, and I’ve not listened or heard about any other m/m books with this plot.
In this book, both characters fall into the gay for you category, but it’s a gradual thing.
