Rebecca Yarros just knows how to get you to fall in love with her characters and buy in to their story. Loved this instalment.

I’ve loved every RY book so far. Her stories are perfection - giving us all the feels the whole way through.
The female speaker was difficult to listen to, which took away from the story itself unfortunately. I couldn’t handle the swallowing

loved the story, loved the characters, but the female narrators voice was so irritating it almost made me dnf it. I hoped that it was something that I'd get used to as the book went on, but it didn't improve. The male impersonation sounds like someone trying to be batman which really ruins a lot of the scenes, she also sounds way too old for the character and you can hear her swallow, smack her lips and turn the pages constantly which really makes me grit my teeth. It would definitely be 5 stars if it was a different female narrator.

If you're looking for a simple, sweet American young adult romance, this is it.

I found the female voice actor well enough for the fmc, but almost intolerable as the mmc, and it took me out of the romantic scenes almost entirely, (especially any spicy scenes).

The story itself is exactly what you expect to gain at this point in the series. Simple, solid romance. Textbook Rebecca Yarros
