I do always fly through a Cathy Kelly book, this one was no exception, easy to read and enjoyable protagonists. Although I do tire of the outdated dialogue that fixates on weight and appearances, especially when the characters have such grounding in much more important elements of their lives. The story overcame this by having strong themes in friendship, independence and family love

It took me a while to get to know all the characters but once I did they drew me into their warm engaging story. The narrator was lovely to listen to.

Loved the characters and narration. Felt the story was lost amongst repetition or threads that went nowhere or were suddenly remembered and thrown back in. Got sick of the rehashing if the main characters' fear of abandonment from all angles.

Caroline Lennon's narration was the best bit.
