there are no niceties in this book.
it's gritty, (not as gritty as I have read) but seeing as this plotline puts our H and H on the wrong side of the law It's inevitable that it has to be.
the author doesn't dispense with niceties like safe sex, contraception or a whole lot of clean but what she does do is give you a romance that writes the scene with typical alpha male thinking to a T, and wraps their attraction in hardship, angst and an almost doomed state.
there were a few holes in the plot that made me question why she hadn't covered them as they were pretty easy to spot. but nevertheless it didn't really detract from the driven story.
there were times I wanted to slap the H when she spoke too much but her backstory...gives her a pass
I'm glad there's a book 2 as I would have been so annoyed at the way the author ended this one. it's not a cliffhanger but if you want to know how these 2 H's story goes/ends then on to book 2
I enjoyed Holden's narration even though I think it was a little more one sided toward Jae's narration as she seemed to have more description and angst to tell.
Jae did sound ok. although there were some scenes when her voice sounded bland, especially when the author described a particular inflection that she probably should have Been using.
I have to know how it ends
