About this listen
Winner of the 2017 Edgar Award for Best Novel.
Selected by The Sunday Times as one of the top page-turners of summer 2017.
From the creator of the award winning Fargo and Legion TV series.
The rich are different. But fate is blind. A private jet plunges into the sea. The only survivors are down-on his luck artist Scott Burroughs and JJ Bateman, the four-year-old son of a super-rich TV executive. For saving the boy, Scott is suddenly a hero. And then, as the official investigation is rapidly overtaken by a media frenzy, it seems he may also be a villain. Why was he on the plane in the first place, and why did it crash?

If you could sum up Before the Fall in three words, what would they be?
Loved the storyline but really struggled with the narrator. What was one of the most memorable moments of Before the Fall?
When JJ spoke with Scott for the first time after the accident. What three words best describe Jeff Harding’s performance?
Unaffected. Frustrating. Difficult.Any additional comments?
The story line was great, though a bit frustrated with the end. Would have liked a bit more closure. Apart from the narration, it was good.Loved it but difficult to listen to

Pacing can be slow at times but the author's ability to show each character's perspective of the world and main event were really well done.
Seemingly fluff-imagery consistently turned out to be valuable metaphors or greatly added to each character's perspective later in the same chapter.
The ending was perhaps a little flat, and I would have liked another chapter to explore the character's future plans.
Overall, it was an enjoyable listen for me as someone who has not explored this genre before.
Great Listen!
