Publisher's Summary

Former Secret Service Agent and star of Bravo's Spy Games Evy Poumpouras shares lessons learned from protecting presidents, as well insights and skills from the oldest and most elite security force in the world to help you prepare for stressful situations, instantly read people, influence how you are perceived and live a more fearless life.

Becoming Bulletproof means transforming yourself into a stronger, more confident and more powerful person. Evy Poumpouras - former Secret Service Agent to three Presidents and one of only five women to receive the Medal of Valor - demonstrates how we can overcome our everyday fears, have difficult conversations, know who to trust and who might not have our best interests at heart, influence situations and prepare for the unexpected. When you have become bulletproof, you are your best, most courageous and most powerful version of you. Poumpouras shows us that ultimately true strength is found in the mind, not the body.

Courage involves facing our fears, but it is also about resilience, grit and having a built-in BS detector and knowing how to use it. In Becoming Bulletproof, Poumpouras demonstrates how to heighten our natural instincts to employ all these qualities and move from fear to fearlessness

I really enjoyed this book

Insightful and worth the read. Well written, engaging and note worthy. Nice to have a book with such good information that I want to share. It’s been a year since reading this book and I still come back to it as I’m constantly thinking about the exit’s of a room, theatre and the people within it. Looking forward to more!

Empowering and motivating

A powerful audiobook that makes you want to be better person, care more about yourself and others, and fight for what's right. Loved Evy narrating this book, you really get a sense of what she felt in those powerful moments. She has great tips on keeping yourself safe but not all were relevant if you're from a safe country/community so I skipped some parts.

The title… becoming bulletproof, transformative!

Enjoyed Evys narrative. Her words, her story, her strengths. So glad I finally got the chance to hear. Especially re 9/11 lens, later her family trip to Greece as a child and how her father not only told her but showed Evy and her brother how the Greeks past suffered for their independence from the Turks. Great strength, great suffering that shapes future generations will. To be true to thyself. Means not only showing up but protect what’s worth protecting no matter the cost. Values. Respect for self and others. Observation. Awareness. Authenticity. And something her husband mentions during their interview about when information is revealed consider who is the messenger and what is their purpose? Something I think we all do well to heed in this day of information overload on social media & AI. Her training I’m in awe of. And liked how she reveals the importance of respect to those she is interviewing to gain the evidence behind awful incidents. Not just the end goal but how and why. And how anyone can apply steps to enhance or redivert their own goals.

Finally her husbands interviews helped me understand myself re The Why in terms of personal strengths. Having myself overcome a childhood illness of cancer, relearning to walk, bullied by childhood friends and adults I used to and still do walk long distances that started as simple beach walk rehabilitation. I used to silence chatter about my scar shame odd etc and concentrate my physical strength sometimes to exhaustion. Your talk with him helped me understand me, that I believe others who read/hear resonate too. In an additional way of the path of being Bulletproof. From beginning to end, listening to friend’s stories, anecdotes. Mentors.
Thank you.

very useful advice, excellent narrative

I was skeptical first “ not one of those self-help book again” . but i was hooked from the beginning. I am surprised Evy is such a good story teller. also the knowledge and advice is super useful. of course there is no “one advice for all situation” so, as stressed by the author—-think for youself. if there is a book ever written to introduce “commonsense” to nowadays population. this is the one.

very informative and beneficial

loved it and finished it in 2-3 days, my favoutite part was reading people chapter, would have been nicer with less detailed narrations and more psychological info, bcz the narrator is a master at it , so i finishedb this book wanting more of the author's tips and knowledge.
