About this listen

National best-selling author Hannah Reed returns with her fourth Scottish Highland mystery, in which she is swept up in a murder following a Sir Walter Scott celebration.

Spring is here, and romance author Eden Elliott has settled into her new life in the picturesque village of Glenkillen. Love is all around her, but Eden is still searching for her own real-life romance. She is also dealing with a creative meltdown and a robber who is running amok in the village assaulting local pensioners. When Eden is invited to a supper in honor of one of Scotland’s most celebrated literary giants, a guest is murdered, and she puts aside her personal issues to dig into deeply buried secrets. But she better find the killer soon if she wants to be alive to overcome that writer’s block - and write another happy ending.

The criminal elements of the story started much too early in my opinion. Considering the actual title of the novel, I think this should have been considered a bit more interesting. Suggestions and thoughts of romance were really few and far between unfortunately, when there were plenty of space for action instead.
Still, it kept me hanging on until the end.

Those hearts are much too still!
