Hmmm

So I loved all the other books by Samantha Christy but this one. Brooklyn just came of like a perpetual teenager and her and Nate's relationship was toxic. Yes people can change but there wasnt much change shown in this book. It woulda been better if some of the book was in Nate's POV.

HOLY DRAMA!!

I loved the story line and the characters, the first 75% of the book was great (mostly) but once they find their way it takes a turn for the worst for me. I don't enjoy extreme drama and the last part of this book was nothing but drama. The jealousy doesn't work for me... If you can't trust each other then you shouldn't be together!! That part for me was immature and turned this 4.5 star book into a 3.5 star book. I will also say that the very first scene wasn't really realistic to me but they were teenagers so I can get past that and did very quickly. I loved the emotional aspect of this book, my heart broke at one part but I love when people pick up and move forward.

The narration was PERFECT... It's Erin Mallon so I expect nothing else!!

Another great romance told by Erin!!

Erin Mallon has so much passion in her narrations. She is just one of the best. This was an absolute well written story and narration by Erin. Nate was flawed but passionate; Michael was the boy next door who loved Brooklyn too. She was loved differently by both men. That would be such a dream for any woman. I loved this story and highly recommend you enjoy it too.

Be My Reason

I enjoy Samantha Christy's writing and this story was no exception. I also have enjoyed other books by this narrator. However, the narration in this book made it difficult for me to listen. I kept starting and stoping the book because of the strange tone and overly breathy quality.

Not for me

This book didn’t give you time to fall in love with the couple before it split them up, so they didn’t have any rooting power. I was not fond of the narration either.

Sad but so good

I was surprised at how emotional this book was but I really enjoyed it. Erin Mallon does an incredible job now reading these characters and brings so much love and emotion into them that it’s so easy to get swept away by the story.

Nate & Brooklyn (aka Lyn)

*****REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS*****

Audible review. Single POV (Brooklyn's). The narrator has a distinct growl through out that is unappealing to me. I enjoyed the story but it's not my favorite SC work. Second chance romance. Trigger Warnings: high school loss of virginity; Nate's mom arrested for running a prostitution ring out of her spa; broken relationship between Nate & his mom; Brooklyn's fiancé dies after he's in a car accident (heartwrenching scene when life support is turn off); Nate's ex-wife cheated on him after he was injured & lost his dream career; extreme jealousy; Ryan intended to betray Brooklyn through her business.

Brooklyn has fallen for Nate, one of her high school's star baseball athletes, when they're both 17 year old virgins. Things quickly escalate the first time they meet off school grounds. Once Brooklyn returns to school she learns Nate's mom was arrested for running a prostitution ring out of her spa and Nate's dad packed up and moved away with his kids. Brooklyn's heart is broken and it takes 6 years for her to find someone new. She gets burned while working in her bakery and requires a trip to the ER where she meets Dr Michael Bridges (cute touch with the last name). Michael sends a follow up care package winning her over. Two years later Brooklyn is happily engaged to Michael & goes to a conference with her long time best friend Emma (Emma has been a player up to this point). While at the conference Brooklyn notices a guy kissing & caressing a few different women. Emma is excited to have met an attractive new business contact and wants Brooklyn to go out with him and his co-worker that night. Brooklyn sees Nate and realizes he was the womanizer she saw earlier and flees. That night Emma & Brooklyn go to meet Emma's new love interest only to find his co-worker is Nate. After much convincing the 4 spend some time together and even have a run in with Nate's ex-wife. Nate & Brooklyn almost kiss sending Brooklyn into a guilt spiral and spending the rest of their time at the conference to herself studying for her upcoming exams. Shortly after their return home Nate starts texting Brooklyn, aftert telling Michael about it, Brooklyn asks Nate to stop. Brooklyn finishes her exams, turns her cell phone back on to receive several messages, 2 of which ask her to get to the hospital quickly. Michael had been in an accident, is on life support and their families have been gathered to say their goodbyes. Brooklyn is devastated and asks Emma and her boyfriend not to tell Nate about Michael's death. 2 years later, Emma is getting married and Brooklyn's secret about Michael is revealed along with Nate revealing his wife cheated on him. After her honeymoon, Emma comes home to move out of their apartment and she allows Nate to move in while he works in the area. Nate has issues with jealousy and he and Brooklyn break-up after he returns home after finishing his project. Brooklyn grieves the end of the relationship only to find out she's 8 weeks pregnant. Nate returns, proposes marriage and a new business venture for Brooklyn. Brooklyn starts to turn him down thinking he's only doing it because she's pregnant. Everything comes out and they are engaged by the end. JP

Every emotion!

If you are looking for a book to give you every emotion, Samantha Christy has written it. After getting over Nate, her high school crush, Brooklyn has opened a bakery and found the man of her dreams. Michael is everything she ever hoped for in a man, and he loved her! When Nate comes back into her life, confusion sets in, but not enough to pull her from her true love. When the unthinkable happens though, she swears off men, only to be thrown back together with her first love. Nate has baggage, more than the average person. Will these two be able to work through their brokenness to find their happy ending? Samantha Christy took me on a whirlwind of emotion. I loved the high school drama, the happiness and security with Michael. But the heat and chemistry that exists with Nate is something every woman can relate to. That tug of first love is hard to forget and Christy captures it completely. Nate and Brooklyn are every person's history, something in each that we relate to with each of their feelings. It's a book that will wring you out and build you back up finding your faith in true love.

Narrated by the talented Erin Mallon, I love how she draws you in and you become the character right along with her. Her ease with dialogue makes it feel comfortable, just like you are there listening to the conversations and as always, her voices are amazing.

Ok

Out of all of Samantha Christy’s books I’ve listened to this is the one I liked the least. The characters were irritating, the story dragged on, it was repetitive and was ONLY about sex, which quite frankly gets boring after the first hundred orgasms! Overall it was just a disappointment.

Wow!!!!

My first ever Samantha Christy book and CERTAINLY NOT MY LAST! Wow, I have no words. I began listening last night and have pretty much spent the entire day listening to and finishing this book. I loved every single chapter, each word. The characters were so perfectly introduced and described that it was easy to feel the emotion. I’ve laughed, I’ve cried... it’s been a rollercoaster that’s for sure haha! Downloading my second SC book as we speak! 10/10

3.75 Emotionally Drained stars

🌟🌟🌟.75 Emotionally Drained Stars

I really enjoyed this story, but i did feel slightly emotionally drained after it had finished!

Brooklyn and Nate have always had a thing, from High School where they hooked up that one time and gave each other their V card, to the time they met again 8 years later at a convention.

You see, even though Brooklyn is engaged to someone else, she had always remembered Nate, always wondered about him, always wondered "What If"

And suddenly, as if it was meant to be, here is is!

The thing is, he is now a slightly over jealous, anxiety ridden chap, don't get me wrong, they are super cute together, but his jealous rages and stalking tendencies seemed to me a little scary, and the relationship seemed to be slightly toxic, i would personally tell Brooklyn to stay clear, but maybe that is me seeing things that are not really there.

🎧🎧 Narration by the always amazing Erin Mallon made this book very enjoyable, it is a new author to me, and i will certainly be looking for others that she has written

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I couldn't stop listening to this one it was the perfect story. Brooklyn has been in love with Nate for years after one night together he vanished not to bee seen till years later but Brooklyn has moved on and is about to get married until a tragedy befalls Brooklyn she is once again alone. Brooklyn and Nate have to work together and in doing so old feelings start to surface but can they work things out and have a HEA. This book has so much feeling it had me in tears a few times . The fact that it had Erin Mallon narrating just made it even better she is just amazing I could listen to her all day. I will definitely be telling my girlfriends about this one. A must listen you will love it.
