Publisher's Summary

Brady Donovan

With a baseball scholarship to Easton University and awesome family and friends, my life is pretty golden. Except, things have never come together for me in the romance department. Until Kellan Crawford walks onto the field as the team's newest bat boy. Bells and whistles go off in my body, and just like that, I'm totally crushing on a guy for the first time in my life. Too bad he's the coach's son and officially off-limits.

Kellan Crawford

I'm working toward my statistics degree, so landing the bat-boy position with the Easton U Pirates is right up my alley. It keeps me close to the action on the field, even if that means hauling equipment, picking up sweaty jockstraps, and putting up with the players' antics. My dad's the coach, and his number-one rule is never to play favorites...which probably includes getting too friendly with the team captain. But Brady Donovan's annoyingly perfect smile and protective nature are making that nearly impossible.

Contains mature themes.

Sweet and tender m/m sports romance!

Bat boy, Kellen, is an openly gay baseball nerd whose father is head coach of the Easton U Pirates. Team captain, Brady, is wondering if he’ll ever meet the right girl and why he likes hanging around Kellen so much. This fairytale feel-good story is intentionally light and low-angst, written as a balm during the COVID crisis and it generally succeeds. I had a goofy smile on my face for most of the book. Christina Lee always writes sympathetic characters and these two are entirely decent guys who thoroughly deserve their HEA. I’m always a sucker for a m/m sports romance and I enjoyed the descriptions of the matches and the interesting team dynamics, which were not always harmonious. Iggy Toma and Kale Williams provide strong audio performances.

sports romance 💝

Great start to a new series.
Nothing better than a College Sports Romance.
Brady and Kellan,
Young first time Gay Love.
the slow sweet burn.
Experimenting at its best.
Iggy Toma and Kale Williams really made the difference and brought this story to life. Great Job Gentlemen.
Book two looks to be a Pitcher, Catcher Ronance, Can't Wait. Bat Boy is so worth the credit and your time to listen.

Love can’t be contained

Iggy Toma and Kale Williams did a wonderful job bringing this story to life.
Throughout the story their falling in love and Brady finding himself is swoon worthy. I can’t wait to see how the next story goes, I have a feeling I know who the story will be about. I can’t wait

Liked the story but narrators too old...

**Audio Review***

Not sure these two narrators were the right men for the job. The MC's are late teens I think, and both Iggy and Kale sounded too old to pull that age group off convincingly for me 😕. I assume they'll be doing Home Plate as well, so maybe I won't bother with that audio, but still love the stories.

***Book Review***

4.5 stars. Christina Lee is another hit and miss author for me, but I really enjoyed this one which was practically an angst-free zone. Great secondary characters, supportive parents and teammates, and two young guys who found themselves falling in love despite the rules they'd placed themselves under. 😍😍😍
