Publisher's Summary
Winner of the Irish Book Awards’ Popular Non-Fiction Book of the Year.
Andrea Corr’s Barefoot Pilgrimage is a compelling and honest memoir.
In part, an exercise in coming to terms with and making sense of life and mortality following the loss of a beloved father; in part, a reflection on an unlikely journey with her siblings through the music industry; in part, a meditation on family, on music and on creativity; and, in part, a shout-out for love and for hope.
This is a very personal - at times very funny, at times deeply moving - book from an iconic figure in popular music.
Critic Reviews
One of Joseph O’Connor’s books of the year: "the work of a writer with a real feeling for language and the nuances of a story." (Sunday Independent)
"A singular voice that tells a tale both frighteningly honest and funny." (Liam Collins, Sunday Independent)
"A book that I really, really enjoyed – and that I was surprised by. It’s quite a literary memoir...an exercise in coming to terms with and making sense of life and mortality following the loss of her beloved father...a reflection on a journey with her siblings that most of us can’t even imagine through the music industry. It’s also musings and meditations on family, creativity and music. There’s a lot of love in it, and a lot of hope. I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed it. [Corr has] a really unique voice." (Róisín Ingle, Irish Times Women’s Podcast)

What an eye opener!
I've been a fan of The Corrs since 1996 and after listening to this, 26 years later (and quite well performed by Andrea, I might add), there are still many surprises! Very poetic with her words! The only trouble I had was working out which timeline I was in, with some parts.
