Publisher's Summary

Ultimate soldier. Ultimate mission. But will the SAS be able to find an IRA sniper before he finds them?

South Armagh, 1989: cheering mobs stand over the body of a British soldier. He is the ninth to have been killed by the so-called Border Fox, an IRA sniper whose activities have helped make this area of the United Kingdom the most feared killing ground in Western Europe.

The British government is determined to break the tightly knit South Armagh Brigade of the IRA before more lives are lost. The SAS men of Ulster Troop are the best in the world at surveillance, unsurpassed in counterinsurgency techniques. And now, once again, they are going to have to prove it.

Their hunt for the Border Fox and the terrorists of South Armagh will be a murderous, little-publicized war in which every encounter, whether in or out of uniform, is potentially a battle to the death.

Great listening

Great book, found it very difficult to get out the car until the end of a chapter.

Abruptly ended

Interesting and well written, but I felt we hit a wall at the end...I mean what happened to 'Early' it was just to abruptly ended almost like a word cpount was hit and it was then finished iin as few words as possible.

Bit far fetched could've done without at accents

Would you try another book written by Peter Corrigan or narrated by Paul Thornley?

Yes

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

Drop the accents and make it a bit more believable by more detail.

Could you see Bandit Country being made into a movie or a TV series? Who would the stars be?

No

Any additional comments?

Thought it was OK but tried too hard to sound realistic when it really wasn't.

Superb

I thought this was one of the best books I've listened to on this subject. Paul Thornley is always good as the narrator: this is the first time I've heard one of the books of this author. I couldn't put the book down and was only disappointed with one thing, it was too short!!

Enjoyed it immensely

This is the first time for this author and it won’t be the last. Well narrated that allowed me to get deeply immersed into the different characters and the setting in South Armagh.
Really great.

No need for anti Irish rubbish

I am a British citizen of Irish decent, I enjoy SAS story but the moment I heard Northern Ireland, I stopped listening to this book. Now it may say at the end that there was wrong on both sides, but it will provoke people from both sides. I went to the last chapter so I could leave my review , when I did I heard the commanding officer say I don’t know why there’s such hatred in Ireland. It’s because of the terrible way the English treated the Irish. I would not recommend this book but

Tedious. Bad accents.

It's a long winded way of saying guy goes undercover, meets girls gets caught and then finally something happens. Nothing new to hear here. Move along!
