Publisher's Summary

With a new wielder of the Axe of Fate, Eunisa Crimsonseas, Karvian and his other companions find themselves hunted and sought after. Feeling pressure from the Dark Mother, Stovin Goldenfields, the King of Chivelestine, sends out a detachment of troops to bring the Axe of Fate back to the capital city of Chivel.

However, battles still rage in Shaeness. Gaivior, an emerald green dragon, goes to aid Shaeness, leaving the rest of the group to deal with what is hunting them: the Blood Dragon. A terrible creation from the experiment chambers within Nyerhurst. Since the first appearance of the beast, neither man nor dragon has ever slain it. The beast's blood is bond to it through twisted magic. Thus once a drop of its blood is spilled, the dragon will be brought back to life.

They soon find themselves wishing that's all they had to worry about. A new threat comes from the depths of the ruins of the Cavern of Plagues, and the seas have started rising; that can only mean the ice is starting to melt. New arrivals from the south instigate increased dragon activity. How much time before the ice completely thaws? Can they save Chivelestine? And exactly how many secrets can one "man" have?
