About this listen

Avalon Spy Academy rules: spy on the fey, resist falling for your mentor, and try not to die in the process.

I spent five years saving up for a European vacation. But instead of drinking champagne on the beach, I get swept into a war of espionage between the humans and the fey.

It turns out, I have a magic power needed to fight an evil fey king. I'm quickly whisked off to an elite spy academy in a hidden realm. There, in the ancient and gothic halls of Avalon Tower, snobbery and brutal competitions are among the oldest traditions.

As if I didn't have enough trouble, my new mentor is Raphael Launcelot, a maddeningly sexy demi-fey who already ruined my life once. I can't fall for him again. Romance is forbidden here; a distracted spy is a dead spy. So I need to push his dangerous allure out of my mind as we travel into the Fey realm. If we get captured, we’ll die horrific deaths–and humanity won’t stand a chance.

If you liked Frost and City of Thorns, you will love Avalon Tower.

Interesting story and loved the humour from nia. The story started strong but did wane a little bit in the middle. The characters were based on Arthurian legend but the story really has nothing to do with King Arthur, more so a story of modern fey. Great narrator, story ok. Definitely worth a listen when looking for something light

Arthurian descendants with modern twist

The narrator understood the assignment and elevated this story to the next level .. she had me cackling!!!

Outstanding narrator

This completed series is a fae vs human story where spies are trained within the walls of Camelot, defending humans from the invading fae. The slow burn enemy to lovers backbone of the story provides enrichment. Well worth a read.

New twist on the Arthurian Legend.

I liked the idea of the story
Some aspects worked really well some not so much
The technology thing was a bit weird and where was the rest of the world in relation to the fae invasion but overall enjoyable
Will get the next one as I’m intrigued about Mordreds story

Fun Arthurian retelling

Firstly, I would like to thank C.N. Crawford for gifting me the E-book for the first book in her new series Fey Spy Academy.
.
I am a massive fan of academy/school/training settings, so the series' name already had my interest, add the Title and I was a goner. This was a must-read and also my first book by this author. I have purchased two other complete series.
.
The writing is amazing, and the imagination that C.N must have to create such a detailed and complex world while also incorporating real-world France and London and the myth of King Authur and the Knights of the Round Table. My mind is blown.
.
There is a strong mix of the plot together with characters, both have been developed well and the ending was........... I have no words. I will be picking up book two as soon as possible.

the ending omg

but the story was very weak with no bite or intrigue... Im not sure what happened with the beta reading feedback.

Normally an incredible writing combination. I was so excited at the premise of coming into unknown power storyline that is catalyst of going to the Spy academy . but the first 7 chapters were so meh!! and the moment of said demonstrated power was almost blink and miss it and played out so minor- I almost thought Id missed it so I replayed it 4 times to chk, this was the said pivotal moment..... I so wanted to love this. but couldnt.

I couldn’t stop listening! I finished this book the day after I started; absolutely riveted to the storyline and the narrator did such a good job with her voices as well

Thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend

Addictive and entertaining

Dangerous spy missions in a war between the fey and demi fay/humans. This book had me hooked from just a few chapters in. The twist on king arthur/camelot was fun and the angsty romance sub plot was SO good. The fmc Nia had so much growth throughout this book and I adore her.

The ending had me shook - that twist came out of nowhere - and I desperately need to start the second book!

*academy setting
*fae/fay & magic
*hidden powers
*second chance romance
*mentor/mentee
*enemies to lovers
*slow burn
*one horse & one bed
*found family
*secrets & betrayal
*trials
*king arthur/camelot reimagined

I'm obsessed with this story

I was really excited for this book but it was lacking. Characters weren’t explored enough, plot holes throughout and felt like it was rushed and half finished.

Story has potential

I couldn’t continue to finish the book as the story felt half baked and didn’t make sense. Why would the fae only invade France?!? The narrator though is great.
