Hainer ist ein kleiner Hai mit vier bunten Zähnen. Jeder Zahn besitzt dabei eine einzigartige Fähigkeit. So spürt der Rote Gefahr, mit dem Gelben riecht er ausgezeichnet, der Blaue hilft ihm alles blitzschnell zu zerschneiden und der Grüne lässt ihn meilenweit hören. Doch leider wird er aufgrund seines auffälligen Grinsens von den anderen Haikindern ausgelacht und fühlt sich deswegen oft alleine. Durch ein heftiges Unterwasserbeben entsteht ein Riss im Felsen über der HAImat, einem kleinen beschaulichen Dörfchen, in dem auch Hainer und seine Eltern wohnen. Hainer nimmt all seinen Mut zusammen und schwimmt los, in der Hoffnung jemanden zu finden, der mit ihm gemeinsam seine geliebte Haimat retten kann.
