Publisher's Summary

When a potential threat against her life forces Eva Daily to seek shelter on another world, she has only one option available to her. She must offer herself to the Interstellar Bride Program. After a deeply humiliating assessment of her suitability, Eva will be assigned a mate and transported to his world to become his bride.

Upon arriving on the desert planet Trion, Eva soon learns that things are quite different than she is used to on Earth. Her assigned mate, the powerful, handsome High Councilor Tark, makes it clear that she will be expected to submit to him completely, and she quickly discovers that disobedience will earn her a painful, embarrassing spanking on her bare bottom. An intimate examination from her new mate leaves Eva blushing crimson, but to her surprise Tark's mastery of her body arouses her beyond anything she could have ever imagined. Soon enough she finds herself naked, bound, and unable to resist the urge to beg for more as his skillful lovemaking brings her to one shattering climax after another. It doesn't take long, however, for Eva to realize that there is much more to Tark than just a dominant brute who will not hesitate to take his misbehaving wife over his knee and redden her bare bottom thoroughly. But just as her passion for him begins to blossom into love, events back on Earth threaten to tear her away from him forever. Can Eva find a way to remain at Tark's side and in his bed, or will she be left with nothing but memories of the man who has claimed both her body and her heart?

Brilliant

This story is about Eva Daily and High Councilor Tark. Eva is forced into witness protection after witnessing a murder and subsequently finds herself enrolled in the Interstellar Brides Program as a murderer and is matched with Tark after an assessment process that leaves her breathless. Disobedience leads to spankings from her new husband and she finds that she just might enjoy this too much to her shock. Tarik discovers his wife is much more than he expected and he is delighted although a little exasperated at the same time. After he discovers the secret she is hiding events back on Earth tear them apart and Tarik thinks he has losts her forever and she discovers she wants nothing but Tarik. This is one scorching hot story from the very beginning and I had trouble putting it down. I highly recommend this book and look forward to the next one in the series.

No Longer Earthbound!

I don't listen to erotica audios but I thought I would give this one a try and I wasn't disappointed. The story was written exceptionally well. I love the Interstellar Bride program. I thought it was a great idea the author came up with up. I actually wondered what it would be like to go to Trion myself.

Grace kept me immersed from start to finish. I loved the story. The story has great characters, plot and the sex scenes are HOT! If you love erotica then this is a must read. If you like sci-fi it's a must read.

Narrator Kylie Stewart did an okay job. Honestly and lets be honest she actually did a much better job with this audio than others she's done. I would like to make a few suggestions to the narrator though so here goes...

Kylie you need to put more emotion and heart in your telling of any story you do. All narrators, well good ones anyway change their accents and you do not. I mean your male voices sound dull and still feminine but shouldn't . You should also work on languages because you may very well need to one day. I guess you can say I'm a hard critic when it comes to narrators but I hope it helps you to work on your performance when narrating. I do assist authors with narrators and I have done this since 2010 so I'm not trying to beat you up but to help you. Every author that I have referred a narrator to has been happy with asking my help and opinions.

hmmm

Not my cup of tea. Narrator was good, but a little too breathy, but it was erotica... The story was so-so. Woman gives herself to be a bride and wakes up hitched to an alien. She wants to take her time, but he knows they were meant to be together, so he is 'all go!'. A lot of forcing himself on her, when she says no then it turns into love. I just like more 'foreplay', getting to know characters and conflict. Just got board with listening to it.

An Unusual Mail Order Bride

The immediate opening is an in your face sexual bondage scene...which made me wonder if I wanted to continue...but I did and glad that I did. The story involved more affection and romantic storyline then that initially indicated to me.
So get past the very beginning, if it isn’t to your taste, and give this a try. The H and h aren’t who they necessarily appear on the surface.

Great story to listen to

This one is a "MUST READ" If at all possible, you really, really need to get the Audible version. The book was the best, but the narrator was good too. If you're looking for a hot, exciting and enjoyable Sci-Fi romance then you can't beat this series. Can't wait to listen to them all.

No

I’m ok with kink and I’m ok with role playing. I’m into hot sex scenes that may not be utterly female empowerment. With that said this book, which I ordered for the sex, was demeaning and misogynistic. When a woman is spanked because she asserts herself in a totally justified manner - then whatever. This author hates women. Free would be too much for this book.

A new twist on the alien/human relationship.

So the heroine is not abducted but willingly enters an "Interstellar Brides" program for, well, the reasons don't really matter. She's thoroughly tested by the Planet Earth folks who run the program then transported ala "Beam Me Up" technology to the other side of the galaxy. Then it starts to get interesting. Some of the reviewers give the book a hard knock because the Heroine is spanked for speaking out. I direct those people to the US Supreme Court Nominee Brett Kavanaugh Sexual-Assault Hearings in the fall of 2018, or to the overturning (on a technicality) of Bill Cosby's sexual assault convictions in July 2021 (where at least 50 women came forward to testify against him), and let's see, who was that guy who was "Grabbing them by the pussy?" My point is that we here on Planet Earth in the 21st Century are not all that enlightened on this topic, so to disrespect an author for an imaginary world set so far in the future that Star Trek technology works across the galaxy - when everyone knows it only works in Line of Sight ;-) is just a little disingenuous, I think. Or, in simpler terms, it's Ms Goodwin's world to create and attempting to apply your own human morals, ethics, or heck, even temperament is ... well, go write your own book if you don't like the world she's created.

I read a lot of romance, and within romance, this is one of my favourite genres. Ms Goodwin has done a fine job of creating an alien world that holds together without having to bend your brain into a pretzel trying to suspend belief while you read the story. Her Hero is believable, sexy, and most importantly, true to his character. The Heroine is straight-up human in all her reactions, and ultimately, it's her character that drives her to reveal her "big secret" to her alien lover, so yeah, she remains true to her character as well. I like that. There are no ridiculous plot twists or other deus ex machina moments in the book that leave you rolling your eyes. The sex scenes and sex toys are titillating, and their application ah, interesting. The sex scenes are a big reason I buy and read these books, and I've learned something here.

I've been looking for a new author for a long time, and I think I've found it in Ms Goodwin. Good show, Ms Goodwin! I am looking forward to reading the entire series.

I was skeptical about this book

After reading some of the comments that were rated low. I took a chance anyway and the boom was not what some had depicted in their comments.

no. no.no.

hell no. this book is disgusting with spanking for standing up for yourself. submitting to a being basicly raped and made to follow her "mates" rule over her or face punishment. I'd have beaten the crap out him for treating me like some kind of cattle. I cant even finish it. I actually am angry listening to this. I dont listen to books to get angry.
