Maybe one of my favourite books ever. Hobb's description of daily life as Fitz grows and finds his place in the world is a highly sensory slow burn that rises to an intense crescendo in time. Joe Eyre has done a superb job narrating Fitz' inner monologue and excels at character accents and mannerisms. What a treat this audiobook was!

Never have I been so absorbed or enthralled by a story. Hobb’s writing is so emotive and immersive. I was completely sucked into the world and felt like I was right there living along with Fitz. Cannot wait to see where the story goes.
