Publisher's Summary

A week ago, the nation crumbled under a mysterious cyber-attack that crippled the power grid, took out communications, killed thousands, and forced Alex Reid and his ex to flee across a lawless country in search of their daughter.

A second wave of attacks are unleashed.

After blowing a tire on the outskirts of Denver, Alex and the survivors find themselves trapped in a ruined city overrun with autonomous killer drones. But when a chance encounter with a feisty, 13-year-old promises safe passage out of the city, they soon find themselves in danger from a secretive group who know far more about the event than they’re letting on.

Every attack has its consequences.

Still reeling from the Petaluma siege, Elisha and Garcia leave behind the city and retreat to the small northern town of Willits, California in search of safety, however, safety is far from what they discover.

As Our World Falls is book two in the Cyber Apocalypse series, a post-apocalyptic survival thriller that follows a husband and wife as they fight to stay alive after an unknown attacker destroys the country and power supply.

Suspenseful

As Our World Falls was an enjoyable listen. The storyline is intense, suspenseful, and believable, and neither EMP nor zompoc, but more of a techno-apocalypse. Alex and Sophie are confronted with enough conflicts to keep the reader and listeners on edge. Elisha, their brave and spirited daughter, is still in California, grappling to find safety and to survive. There are some twists, and the suspense is great, you'd never know what the family will have to face next, and a poor decision can put their lives at risk. I am definitely looking forward to the next book. I'll be honest, I've never been a fan of Kevin Pierce. That being said, he is a talented narrator, and with his telling, he brought the characters and story to life. Overall, this was a very enjoyable and entertaining listen, one I highly recommend. Solid follow up

As Our World Falls is a solid follow up to As Our World Ends, the latest post-apocalyptic series by the talented Jack Hunt. Picking up where book 1 left off, once again focusing mainly on the struggle of one family, separated by the devastating attack on America, to survive and reunite. Well paced, great action, and a really enjoyable story with some fun twists. I look forward to seeing where the story goes from here. Like most of Jack Hunt's books, As Our World Falls is narrated by Kevin Pierce and as always he does an excellent job.

2nd of Series

I love post-apocalyptic books without zombies with good narration. I enjoyed the characters of Alex and Sophie Reid, foster child Ryan, Elisha, Liam, and Garcia (a cop). There catastrophic events with drones killing people after cyber-attack and they run into many problems as they search for their daughter. Can’t wait until As Our World Burns come out on audible. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. THANK YOU

Complicated, But Engaging PA Story

"As Our World Falls" continues the saga of Alex Reid, his estranged wife, and foster child Ryan as they try to get back to California to reunite with their Alex and Sophia's daughter, Elisha. However complications ensue immediately. Alex and company encounter rogue drones, and a mysterious cult like group of people who at first seem to offer protection and food. However, appearances aren't what they seem. We see the beginnings of the rise of the cartel to feel the power vacuum left in the wake of the attacks. There's a lot going on, and it's hard to keep track of every single sub-plot. But if the reader just goes with the flow of the story, it's a most enjoyable listen. Kevin Pierce elevates everything he narrates, it doesn't matter what the material. He's spot on perfection every single time at bat. Looking forward to the continued saga of the Reids, and all the other characters involved in the aftermath of PA America. Very short but a worth while listen

As always, Kevin brings you right to the action. He brings the characters to live and allows you to be there with the family. Now, about the story - This is a story of a family, fractured but family traversing the nation to find their daughter after the country has come under a suspicious cyber attack. It finds Alex and Sophie in the Denver area, it is being attacked by drones. They find a girl who leads them to a camp, they go with her in an effort to not be attacked by the drones. The compound they end up, isn't all it cracked up to be and the action heats up. We find the other part of the story, having the crew fight the Cartel and deal with an enter intra-family squabble. Childhood friends are who they seem. A massive fight ensues and puts everyone at risk. We end up with the start of a love triangle. While the story is laid out good and keeps it moving along, it seems at the end they just rolled the fast forward button and made everything OK, so we can get to the next book. The story is very short, only 5 hours and a few minutes. Leaving you wondering what happened to the rest of the picture. I like this story a lot. The length and the chopped ending left a bad taste in my mouth. I hope more for the continuation.

Second Installment, Getting Better as It Goes On

I was given this free review copy audio-book at my request and have voluntarily left this review. This review is for the audio copy of As Our World Falls - Cyber Apocalypse, Book 2 by Jack Hunt and narrated by Kevin Pierce. I liked the first book in the series and I am happy to say I like the second book even better. The character development and their personalities maintained consistency; the storyline captivated my attention such that I listened to it whenever I could; and it made me care for the good guys and hate the bad guys. Kevin Pierce, the voice of the EOTWAWKI novels, was superlative as ever. I highly recommend this story and can’t wait to listen to book 3.

I was lost

I was lost by the 2nd chapter and didn’t feel like I got 1/2 the story by the end. Almost like there was a book before this one. I’m normally in to these 100% but this fell short for me personally.

Cyber Apocalypse Book 2, Great PA novel

As Our World Falls is a great continuation from the first in the series As Our World Ends. If you haven't read the first you should definitely listen to it first. It picks up where the last book left off following Alex, Sophie, Ryan and their group as they try to get to California to meet up with their daughter Elisha. The power grid has come down and survival is now in doubt throw into the mix mysterious drones that are trying to kill you, a group that seems to offer safety but is a bit cultish, gangs and more, there is plenty to keep you entertained. The story switches between the different groups, i.e. Alex, Sophie, Ryan and gang and then to Elisha and Garcia in California and others. The narration by Kevin Pierce is excellent as always, He is one of my favorite narrators, I think I could listen to him read a phone book and enjoy it. If you like Post Apocalyptic books then I think you will definitely enjoy this, there are no zombies which some people love and some people hate. I can't wait to listen to the next in the series. Entertaining common story thread.

This is the third book i have read/listened to by this author. I have not listened to book 1 in this series. This has left me a little in the dark as far as some things. For the most part, this is a new segment with a new interaction between the lead characters and the people of a church in Willis, so I found I was not to far out of sync. This story has a degree of conclusion as well as the end sets the stage for the next segment of the story (in the next book). The storyline with the inhabitants of Willis Church is not really a new premise. Mostly, it’s a question if they will get away okay together. The drones were a new idea though. This is the twelfth book I have listened to by this narrator ( Kevin Pierce ) and I would definitely listen to another. He embodies the ideal of an apocalyptic narrator. His character voices are all well done and distinct and not exaggerated. There are no explicit sex scenes, excessive violence or (that I recall) offensive swearing. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and voluntarily left this unbiased review. Please feel free to comment on whether you found my review helpful.

Exciting 2nd Book in 'Cyber Apocalypse' Series

The 'Cyber Apocalypse' series continues the post-apocalyptic action with 'As Our World Falls'. Alex, Sophie, Ryan and Thomas have made it to the edge of Denver in the week that's passed since Book 1. The truck they were using has broken down and they have ventured into Denver. They find the city destroyed and armed drones actively hunting down people and killing them. Will they accept help from a girl who seems immune from attack? Meanwhile, Elisha, Liam and Garcia have left Petaluma for Willits, in northern California, where Liam's grandparent's owned and stocked a prepper/survival cabin. Once there, new problems arise for the group. They also soon learn that the gang has not been so easily left behind. Alex and Sophie are in the learning curve of who can be trusted in this new reality. Ryan is still not spilling the entire story of how he's involved with the attacks. We do find out a few tantalizing clues as to how the attacks are being perpetrated and who's behind them. I hope Mr Hunt gives the readers Ryan's POV in Book 3 so we get a more complete answer on that front. I most enjoyed the scenes involving Elisha, Liam and Garcia. They spend time prepping the cabin for a post-apocalypse. Mr Hunt writes some tips to securing a property against intruders that were nicely woven into the story. There's a little bit of a police procedural mystery in these sections that are a nice touch as well. There's a lot of post-apocalyptic action and suspense too. Jack Hunt gives the reader scary killer drones, mysterious groups offering sanctuary, Alex getting into rescue mode, an ex-military old man protecting his store. shootouts and, oh yeah, shootouts. It's a well-done thrill ride with well-written characters. Kevin Pierce has done a brilliant job with narration once again. All narrations I've listened to by him are first-rate. At my request, I was provided with a free review copy of this audiobook. I am now posting a voluntary opinion of it. Recommended.
