About this listen

A creative call to arms from the mind of Neil Gaiman. Art Matters will inspire its listeners to seize the day in the name of art.

Be bold. Be rebellious. Choose art. It matters.

Neil Gaiman once said that 'the world always seems brighter when you've just made something that wasn't there before'. This audiobook is the embodiment of that vision. Drawn together from speeches, poems and creative manifestos, Art Matters explores how reading, imagining and creating can change the world, and will be inspirational to young and old.

Critic Reviews

"Like a bedtime story for the rest of your life, this is a book to live by. At its core, it's about freeing ideas, shedding fear of failure, and learning that 'things can be different.'" (Institute of Imagination)

I really enjoyed this book. It’s very inaccessible needing to write a review about it so I can re-read the book. Won’t let me re-read without writing this review. I use auditable because it’s easier for me to process information when listening. Reading and writing are a privilege I don’t always have. Pay some people from disability community to support you designing your app so it’s more accessible. Neil Gaiman is a legend and I love listening to his perspective.

Loved Neil's exposition on libraries and the importance of books and why reading for pleasure is so important.
His thoughts on arts also were engaging leading me to feel more confident and less concerned.
