Another winner from Annabeth!!
Saving the most heartwarming coupling for last! I loved gruff Quill and talkative Owen. Opposites attract and these two set the pages on fire with a not quite friends but with all the benefits arrangement. I felt their relationship grew organically and even though Quill didn’t really understand/accept what was happening he eventually gets there in the end and these two find their way to healing, love and a great future.
I love Annabeth’s style of writing and it’s always an adventure, with heat, a picturesque backdrop, and a little dangerous/life-affirming interlude. I loved the passion present in her writing and I love the juxtaposition of Quill and Owen. Owen is a fighter and while he doesn’t yet know “where” he wants to be, he knows what he wants when he finds it and Quill’s it. Quill’s journey is a bit more difficult and he needs to get out of his own way but as the story progresses he heals from his past traumas and finds himself along the way.
A great listen, with adventure, heart, and love! What more could you want?
