High heels, movie deals, wagon wheels, shoes, reviews, having the blues, builders, babies, families and other calamities... Many think that Marian leads a glitzy life of limos, television, and showbiz parties - but she would argue that she spends the majority of her life writing alone, wearing her PJs, and eating bananas with a laptop on a pillow in front of her. Under the Duvet is a wide collection of her journalism and stories, all personal, closely observed, and painfully funny...

Publisher's Summary
Anna Walsh is officially a wreck. Physically broken and emotionally shattered, she lies on her parents' Dublin sofa with only one thing on her mind: getting back to New York. New York means her best friends, the most fabulous job in the world, and, above all, it means her husband, Aidan. But nothing in Anna's life is that simple. Not only is her return to Manhattan complicated by her physical and emotional scars, but also Aidan seems to have vanished. Is it time for Anna to move on?

Found this below par compared to the previous in the Walsh family series. There were still spot that had me laughing inappropriately loud in the tearoom at work! Hoping the last in the series is back to Marian Keyes previous standard of family hilarity and storyline with unexpected twists.

Marian Keyes is brilliant
I have read all her books and now I'm so excited to listen to them on Audio. MK writes in such a unique way, and no two stories are ever the same. I love her use of humour for really deep and meaningful topics. Is Anybody Out There? is a book about an Irish woman living in New York and going through the stages of grief. Caroline Lennon has done a fantastic job with narration and has nailed all the different characters and their accents to a tee. If you haven't read Marian Keyes yet, you're missing out!

Didn't know what I was letting myself in for
What a book! I can honestly say I have not enjoyed a book this much since I can't remember when. The book opens up with Anna Walsh, who is the main character of this book, recovering from some kind of episode, for want of a better word (I won't spoil this for you by telling you what kind of episode), in Ireland with her family. It is both sad and hilarious at the same time and every emotion you have ever felt comes spilling out with her in everything she does from work to play, from despair to acceptance from Ireland to New York. If you want a really good book that you will recommend to all your book-loving friends then this is the one for you. It has had me laughing until I thought my sides would split and tears of laughter were carousing down my face as well as crying soon after with tears of sadness spilling down my face. Just an amazing book and I loved every word, sentence and paragraph and couldn't wait to hear more and now I am really sad that I have finished reading it.

An absorbing read
I was not at all sure I would like this book. It is not my sort of book really, but I thought I would try it as I didn't want to get stuck in a rut.
Without going into any of the story- the other reviewers have done that well enough- I would just say that this is an absorbing book that never quite went where I expected. If Chick Lit is not your thing give it a go anyway- it draws you down to the deepest of human emotions and yet is not indulgent.

There certainly is something out there!
This book kept me gripped from beginning to end. Even though it split into three parts each part is perfectly crafted to draw you along. I was drawn into firstly how did she end up like that and then is there really anything out there. This book is very funny and everyone will think did she model Anna's mum on my mum - because i certainly did. It's a good, wholesome, funny read well worth the time.

Engaging
This was the first of Marian Key's books that I have listened to and I am not much of a chic lit reader so approached it with slight trediation. It was a really good listen. The reader has a pleasant voice though I recognised it from The Archers and that was a bit disconcerting to start with, the story is gently sad but engaging with well constructed characters. I'll try some more of her books.

Anybody Out There?
Would you listen to Anybody Out There? again? Why?
Yes, probably - it's incredibly densely plotted and there's a great deal to be gained from a second or indeed a third listen.
What other book might you compare Anybody Out There? to, and why?
Marian Keyes' other Walsh sisters books.
Which character – as performed by Caroline Lennon – was your favourite?
Anna herself - beautifully performed and enunciated.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Well, the twist in the middle of the book. I've read this book at least twice in paperback and it was very sad in parts.
Any additional comments?
I think that it could have been edited a bit to remove some of the sub plots. It was incredibly long at times. Also, the email exchanges became a little weary - especially as the email addresses were read out, in whole, all of the time - zzzz.
