An eye opener
Never thought much of anthropology much before this book. Engaging and refreshing narrative. The narrator is great to listen to.

Great narration but Anthrofluff
After reading ‘The Silo Effect’, Tett’s previous book I had high expectations. I regularly read Tett in the Financial Times and find her work to be excellent generally. This book was equally engaging and interesting, however, it lacked a lot in credibility.
The author seems to try to have seen the CDO crisis coming even though she didn’t understand the product. She tries to explain away her involvement with Cambridge Analytica. And simply takes a slightly different tack on psychology and calls it anthropology.
In a world where we need to have more evidence and facts, Tett seems to argue for less. She jumps aboard the Woke-train and uses anthropology to justify it. Some of this was just Anthrofluff.
Imogen Church was excellent as the narrator, I really enjoyed her work and will look for other books that she narrates.

probably a good story marred by overacting narration
I just couldn’t listen. It’s my failing. I don’t know why the producers felt it needed such overplayed narration
