About this listen
Anna Black - This Girl Can Play is female football fiction!
She started playing football as a child in the suburbs of Sydney, became a W-League player and - moving on to the future - is a leading player in the Matildas that plays in the 2023 Women's World Cup on home soil in Australia. Along her football journey, she discovers what and who are important to her in life.
It's Texi Smith's fourth "unashamed football novel", and is narrated by former Australian Institute of Sport athlete, journalist and voice artist, Kate Bright.
©2021 Katie Mack (P)2021 Fair Play PublishingI also enjoyed the match reports that you are prompt to read during the world cup, which gives the story itself a whole other level again.
The beginning does sound a little robotic, but by chaper 7 it's fluent and much better.
all in all, it's a great book and would highly recommend, even if you arnt a crazy soccer fan like myself !
What a Journey !
