Nachdem Jakob jedoch eines Nachts von einem Tier angefallen und gebissen wird, gerät die Harmonie ins Wanken. Die Arbeit an seinem Buch verwirft er, sie passt ohnehin nicht zu seinen neu auftretenden, irritierenden Tagträumen. Viel interessanter scheinen ihm plötzlich die Sagen aus der Umgebung.
