About this listen
This is the final part of the memoirs of Detective Inspector Peter Johns. In it, he tries to tell the story of his beloved first wife, Angie, and how she affected his own life and those of other people around her.
Angie comes to Britain from Jamaica, intent on finding help for her brother, who has cerebral palsy. A murder at the nurses' home where she lives brings her into contact with Peter, who comes in to investigate. Peter is clear that the color of a person’s skin is of no significance, but others do not agree - as Peter and Angie find out to their cost.
