Ane har mistet sin kat, Mads, der er blevet kørt over. Derfor har hun fået lov til at få en ny kat, og da hun ser killingen Malle, forelsker hun sig pladask i ham. Anes bror, Bo, vil hellere have en hund, men så opdager han, at Malle faktisk minder ret meget om en hund.
