skip Intros

The stories are good, narration great, but the long, boring introductions before each story are tedious and annoying as hell. Do yourself a favor and skip them, most are long and nearly all uninteresting.

too dark and violent

Some of it was good, the performance was excellent, most was way too violent. I suppose it truly belongs in the horror genre, which I do not frequent.

Creepy Sh#t! Awesome.

Absolutely some of the creepiest stuff I've ever heard.
My Husband's Hands? Thought about it all day. That one with the survey? Holy Shot!
It's not blood and guts horror. None of that vampire crap either. It's cerebral and imaginative.
Sure, there were 1 or 2 stories that were less than the others... get over it. If you don't like the intros... There's a button for that.
Just... wow.

mix of disturbing and interesting

Honestly, I've only made it to the second story where the narrator (an insane sociopath) fantasizes about implanting zippers in a living woman so she becomes a puppet whose senses he can control. The first story is fun and thought provoking, but I thought it best to warn others that the authors preface about his desire to write disturbing is not just copy. The writing is excellent the narrative is well paced. I imagine at least half the stories are to my taste. I recommend you be prepared.

Loquacious much?

This writer is new to me.so I was looking forward to these stories. Unfortunately, the foreword was a stumbling block for me as I thought it to be pretentious. I think it colored my perspective so that I wasn’t overly impressed with the first story. I wanted to be fair and adjust my expectations accordingly but before the start of the next story he’s talking again, and sounds smug doing it. This is the pattern throughout the book. It was like trying to watch a movie only to have the guy seated in front of you keep turning around to you to say “hey, watch this”, just before all the good scenes. He may mean well, but I couldn’t help feeling cheated.

No need for the author

The author's voice is annoying. I very hard new york bk qeens accent. This is coming from a new yorker. The stories are a drag and just boring. Get it for free and then delete it.

Excellent, but sometimes hard to listen to

Often horrifying, sometimes funny, this is an outstanding collection of this author's work. Will listen to it again, for sure.

Great audiobook!

I love Adam-Troy Castro’s writing — and could listen to Stefan Rudnicki all day long. Yeah, there’s some darker stuff here, but I enjoy it. And ALL of the stories are good!
