Publisher's Summary

Award-winning regency romance author on the rise

Griffith, Duke of Riverton, likes order, logic, and control, and he naturally applies this rational approach to his search for a bride. He's certain Miss Frederica St. Claire is the perfect wife for him, but while Frederica is strangely elusive, he can't seem to stop running into her stunningly beautiful cousin, Miss Isabella Breckenridge.

Isabella should be enjoying her society debut, but with her family in difficult circumstances, her uncle will only help them if she'll use her beauty to assist him in his political aims. Already uncomfortable with this agreement, the more she comes to know Griffith, the more she wishes to be free of her unfortunate obligation. Will Griffith and Isabella be able to set aside their pride and face their fears in time to find their own happily-ever-after?

I really, really wanted to like this...

I really, really wanted to like this but I only made it to Chapter 14. The story was superficial...I got so tired of hearing about how much more beautiful Isabella was than her cousin. Over and over the cousin's unfavorable features were brought up. I like a good looking H/h as much as the next person, but the way it was constantly mentioned just rubbed me the wrong way...it was too much. None of the characters had any chemistry and they weren't very likable. :-( I was bored...

The narrator sounded like an American trying to do a British accent and it got on my nerves. Why not just hire someone with a British accent to narrate? .

Really enjoyed!

This is the last book in the series and after the other books captured my attention I could not wait to read this one. The story pulled me in and felt as though I couldn't wait to see what happened next. The author has such a great style of storytelling. Would highly recommend to anyone who enjoys a good story!

Great

I was not as fond of the second and third books in this series but they were pleasant enough. I really enjoyed the first and last books. The middle books helped to understand who the characters were throughout however and so I’m glad I read them.

Wonderful story wonderful narration

What a beautiful end to a lovely series. I was hoping that Ms. Hunter wouldn't use the same narrator she used for Georgina's and Trent's stories and thank goodness she didn't! I thoroughly enjoyed the plot as well as the narration of this book.

Narrator not the best

For me the annoying fake sounding accent and tone was a bit too obnoxious. I’m sure it’s just how it came across to me but I had to skip to the end. It may have been a better story if I’d just read it instead. But after reading or listening to many of these types of books I am weary of the predictable stupidity of not just telling the truth to someone you actually think you love and all the ensuing self righteous destructive sacrifices that are equally as cruel to the other people involved. This plot summary has been done to death. The narrator seemed to forget at times the accent and read without much expression it was boring to listen to the ratatat quick pace of it. A good enough book otherwise.

Can not recommend, no story

I just finished this book, I can not remember the name of the main characters and the story, was there a story? If there was a story I can assure you, it made no sense.

I suppose this is a "clean" romance. Unfortunately it is so clean that at least I failed to notice any attraction between the lovers.

There was also a lot of talk of doing god's will, which was annoying, since the story did not make any sense. It is all well and good to have characters with a faith, but that does not rescue the author from having a plot for the book.

The performance was ok I guess, but it was not so good that I would listen to a book just because I would like to hear the narrator once more. She had a problem with her as. For example she could not pronounce avoid. Maybe an American doing a British accent and failing?
