About this listen

A freak accident in rural Wyoming leads the sheriff's department to arrest a man for a possible double homicide, but further investigations suggest a much more horrifying discovery - a serial killer who has been kidnapping, torturing, and mutilating victims all over the United States for at least 25 years. The suspect claims he is a pawn in a huge labyrinth of lies and deception - can he be believed?

The case is immediately handed over to the FBI, but this time they're forced to ask for outside help. Ex-criminal behavior psychologist and lead detective with the Ultra Violent Crime Unit of the LAPD Robert Hunter is asked to run a series of interviews with the apprehended man. These interviews begin to reveal terrifying secrets that no one could've foreseen, including the real identity of a killer so elusive that no one, not even the FBI, had any idea he existed...until now.

The story flows well and is detailed as always. The author has a knack for writing in a manner that showcases the heroes and villains mindsets. Kudos.

Great story, well read

Maybe its because I'm listening to all his books in the series strait after one another but im finding them to get very repetitive as in word for word same paragraphs in all books. Also as someone else wrote they changed the narrator and that threw me for half the book he is not as good as the previous one. As for the story it wasn't bad definitely worth your time if you like triller/gore books one thing i do find is that chris carter always comes up with new and inventive ways to kill his victims that makes you uneasy.

Not his best but still worth a listen.

This was the best Robert Hunter novel so far. New narrator, who I preferred, and a great storyline.

Best Chris Carter yet

It was a bloody brilliant listen. Although the narrator changed, it was still really enjoyable, Chris Carter never disappoints me. He always surprises me with how he can come up with all these crazy scenarios. Although I throughly missed the voice of Thomas Judd. I think I would have enjoyed it soo much more if he was narrating it ♥️

😭😭 I missed Thomas Judds narration sooo much. This new narrator does not do Detective Robert Hunter justice.

I couldn’t believe that the protagonists and others from FBI could be hoodwinked by this shocker of a psycho who managed to murder so many people. I also can’t believe this was a 4 star rating. It was well read. I hope I get a refund.

Don’t bother paying for this.
