Publisher's Summary

Among the Echoes is a full-length standalone novel.

My name was Dr. Erica Hill. I was a victim, then a witness, and then I ceased to exist altogether.

I may still be breathing, but stripped of my identity, I have long since stopped living. I am invisible, and my life depends on my ability to stay in the shadows.

But he sees me.

Slate Andrews is the embodiment of everything I have been taught to avoid. He’s rich and famous, and one image of him with a woman would earn millions for any paparazzi lucky enough to snap it. He has vowed to protect me with his life, yet he exposes me with his every breath. I should be stronger and walk away. I should disappear. But I’m terrified he would come after me.

I’m on the run, determined not to take him down with me, but absolutely unable to let him go.

My name is Riley Peterson...at least for today.

This novel contains material that may be offensive to some listeners. Including sexual abuse, graphic language, and adult situations. Intended for listeners 18+.

Exciting romantic suspense!

A fast paced story in this audiobook made it great to listen to. The heroine when we first meet is in dire straights ( please note: there are some triggers right off the bat- violence, rape, etc). Then we meet the hero who is the heavyweight boxing champion of the world who is tired of all the publicity and hype and is considering quitting. He has an apartment in a small town in Ohio where he goes to hide out and decompress and that’s where he literally runs into the heroine. Neither of them give their real names and he’s fascinated by how scared she seems to be. As they slowly get to know one another you wonder if either of them will ever tell the other the truth about who they are and once they do will they ever be safe? Narration was well done.

Story good Female narrator cringeworthy

Romance with some excitement.i enjoy getting to know these characters but it as hard to listen to female narrator. She sounded 80 years old. I couldn’t wait for the male to takeover and would have not finished it otherwise.

did not like the female narrator for this story

story is alright. But I wish I had just read the book and not listened to the audio I may have liked it more then. the female narrator kind of ruined it for me. she sounds like an older lady in her 60s. I think she's suppose to have a sexy rasp but it more of a rasp of someone who use to smoke or lived a hard life. I kept waiting for her to call people sweetheart and offer them tea while giving advice cause she'd lived through it all. the male narrator sound amazing and the voice matches the picture you get of slate.
The rest of the series is narrated by the same 2, I won't be listening to them.

enjoyed this

I enjoy this author, but I will need to remember she has some rough stuff in her books. The female narrator was ok at first, then went a bit irritating, The male narrator was great.

Great book!

I really enjoyed this book. It had a good amount of action, mystery, and romance. And the narration only helps to enhance this book. Highly recommend.

Better than ever

Slate was magnificent! I first discovered him in "Fighting Silence". His and Erica's story was riveting. This is a must read...even if only to fall in love with Leo James so the next book I HAVE to read is "Broken Courses".

Heartbreakingly beautiful.

I fell in love with Slate on Fighting Silence. He was a magnificent man. Actually finally listen to his story of love was a plus plus to my love of the clan in the On the Ropes series. Erica and Slate love really consumed me. It was sweet, passionate and healing. It’s a shame it took me so long to know this beautiful love story existed. Now I can’t wait to read Leo James love story.

heartrending

This story yanked my heart out, reshaped it. and put it back in. Erica is one of the strongest female characters I've been introduced to. Slate, of course, stole my everything. Laura Jennings and Carson Beck are the true voices of this story.

Brilliantly Written

I have absolutely loved every book I've read or listened to by Aly Martinez. This one was no exception. While it had an unpleasant beginning (trigger warning if you are sensitive to subjects such as rape), it was so well written. The depth of this story just kept me hooked. I can't wait to listen to others in the series. This is a standalone, but I realized it was book "2.5" later into the listening process so I will def go back and listen to books 1 and 2.
Can't recommend highly enough. Slate *swoon* <3
These narrators are new to me and did an amazing job. I can't wait to listen to more of their titles.
