I absolutely loved this… contained all the best elements of the Wicked Prince and Shadow and Bone but was its own unique story full of twists… I love predicting what is going to happen in books and although I figured it out eventually this certainly kept me guessing. The narration was good although I would have loved this to be a duet. I will absolutely be listening again!!

I have seen some people rave about this book and although I had a feeling I’d love it, it wasn’t what I expected.

It was such a rollercoaster of emotions, politics, games and passion. I have no idea how she was able to fit this all into one book but it was awesome.

I highly highly recommend.

I saw this recommended on TikTok as an epic stand alone Romantasy. I wouldn’t describe it as epic, but I definitely enjoyed it. The plot was great, though I do think it could have been fleshed out and been a duology or even trilogy, the beginning and end were very rushed and at times confusing with big moment being glossed over or things happening “off the page”. But overall I enjoyed the story, I was invested in the characters and there were many moment that were unique which is not always guaranteed in a fae story. A great stand alone palette cleanser when you don’t want to jump into a whole new series!

It's like a good loaf of bread, it will keep you engaged and It's something a little different.
It could have been a bit longer. But the banta was good, It's spicy and a bit of fun. lots of biting though.
