Well plotted story of a small town intrigue and corruption therein. Narrator steady and minimal vocal-fry! I usually read English detectives, Vera, Rebus etc. There's grit and character in the main protagonists, and written to easily form mental pictures of people, places, and situations.

Really enjoyed the main character and the way the story unraveled. I had somewhat predicted the “who dunnit” element but did not anticipate how the full story unraveled. Will look for more from this author.

This was a great listen from start to finish. I loved the twists and turns of the plot and the learning journey that Charlie goes through as she makes her escape from Sawyer. Just beautiful writing!
