Sie ist voll dichtem und hohem Erlen- und Haselnussgebüsch, zwischen welchem Germen (Liliengewächse), Schierling und Sauerampfer wuchern. Unter diesen Gewächsen rieselt ein Wasser, das seinerzeit zuweilen nur von einem durstigen Krötlein aufgesucht wurde, sonst aber, so klar und frisch es war, ganz unbeachtet blieb, bis unser Nachbar, der Thoma, dem die Schlucht gehörte, eine Mühle in dieselbe baute.
