Dass er ein begnadeter Seher war, bewies Alois Irlmaier in seinem dramatischen Leben vielfach. Während des zweiten Weltkrieges konnte er beispielsweise auf paranormale Weise erkennen, ob vermisste Soldaten noch lebten oder tot waren, und in der Nachkriegszeit löste Irlmaier dank seiner Gabe eine ganze Reihe von Kriminalfällen, bei denen die Polizei im Dunklen tappte.
