Publisher's Summary

From #1 New York Times bestselling author Jamie McGuire comes a riveting tale of first love that starts young but runs deep.

The first time Elliott Youngblood spots Catherine Calhoun, he’s just a boy with a camera, and he’s never seen a sadder and more beautiful sight. Both Elliott and Catherine feel like outcasts, yet they find an easy friendship with each other. But when Catherine needs him most, Elliott is forced to leave town.

Elliott finally returns, but he and Catherine are now different people. He’s a star high school athlete, and she spends all her free time working at her mother’s mysterious bed-and-breakfast. Catherine hasn’t forgiven Elliott for abandoning her, but he’s determined to win back her friendship...and her heart.

Just when Catherine is ready to fully trust Elliott, he becomes the prime suspect in a local tragedy. Despite the town’s growing suspicions, Catherine clings to her love for Elliott. But a devastating secret that Catherine has buried could destroy whatever chance of happiness they have left.

This book was not a surprise for me at all, I figure out within the first 1/4 of the book what was going on because I've read another version of this before. I still enjoyed most of this book except the teen angst was a little too much for me and some of the things that happen were a little too far fetched for my taste but since it's YA, I kind of expected that. Jamie McGuire wrote a fascinating story that even though I knew what was happening it still kept me enthralled until the end. I think the teens in this book were more realistic then the adults, some of the situations with the teachers & parents made me roll my eyes. If you've never read The Whispers and the Roars... give All the Little Lights a try, your probably love it!

The narration was great, I thought they both did a great job for all the characters.

She's back!

I'm always hesitant to start a Jamie McGuire book. I know it's going to grip me I won't be able to stop listening and then stop thinking about what I've listened to. As with all of her books, it's beautifully written. It's a love story and so much more. This story follows the young love of Elliot and Catherine. They meet as young children and we watch them grow into young adults. The ending will make your jaw drop. This will definitely be one I will re-read many times.

Horrible!!!

One of the worst books I've ever endured. It was long, drawn out, boring and just all around unenjoyable. Katherine was an idiot... no child, and especially a teenager would stick around like she did. Angsty, immature and petty (who holds a grudge against a 15 year old? cause they have so much control over their lives? or I dont know, go to talk to your friggin neighbor?) I just didnt care! The sheer amount of eye rolling, loud sighs and muttered phrases like "god this is stupid" and "is this almost over?" was record breaking. The twist was totally predictable and 100% the daughters fault for again, being an idiot. Thank god I listened to the audio version... I had it set to chipmunk speed to just get thru it. yuck. hard pass you guys.
