Honest, vulnerable. Heartbreaking yet hopeful. I was completely captivated by Beth’s story. Once I’m done writing this review I’m going to listen all over again. As always Beth is poetic and witty, deeply thoughtful and courageously real. I’m in awe of her strength considering the pains she has endured. I haven’t cried so much in years. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this! Beth told her story with rawness, honesty, and splashes of humour. I laughed and cried, and was so encouraged by her confidence and security in God. The final 30 seconds of the epilogue were the perfect words to finish.

One of the best memoirs I’ve ever read/listened to

The book started like any other person’s nice autobiography about growing up in their own nice, idiosyncratic family … but. Oh. Then the story develops. And from that one point, it’s a wild ride. Such humour and humility and grace, such powerful observations - of others and self - are so rare. Beth is a one of a kind story teller. I realise now all those elements that shaped her, why she is so different to so many other “Christian speakers” - so many other “Christians”!
And heck yes. She is different. What a breath of fresh air she is.
Brilliantly constructed book, beautifully told story. So well done, and to have her read it herself is like listening to your good friend tell you their story. 10/10, 5-stars, all of that applause well deserved.
