About this listen
He’s a grumpy single dad. She’s the one who got away. They haven’t seen one another in years, and now they’re stuck in a hotel room together. And there’s only one bed.
I’ve loved her from the first moment I saw her.
And I’ve loved her every day since.
Whether we’re together or we’re apart—that hasn’t changed.
Which is saying a lot considering I don’t like most people.
But life has thrown us a slew of curveballs and we went our separate ways.
Life, family, jealousy—we let it all get in the way.
I’m a dad now, and my little girl is my world.
And after years apart, Presley is back in Cottonwood Cove.
I don’t believe in fairytales or second chances.
My heart belongs to my daughter now, and there is no room for complications.
Presley Duncan is a giant complication.
A wise man would keep his distance.
But I never claimed to be a wise man.
So maybe we end up in a car together in the middle of a snowstorm.
Which leads to a hotel room with only one bed.
Maybe I should reconsider my stance on fairytales and second chances.
And seeing Presley with my little girl does something to me.
Stirs something inside of me that I thought was long gone.
But I know this is temporary.
She’ll be leaving soon, and I’m prepared to let her go.
Until she’s gone.
And I realize that I’m not prepared at all for life after the storm.

Laura Pavlov my queen absolutely gave me a new fave.
Presley returns to Cottonwood Cove after her dad has a health scare and she is then reunited with her first love Cage. Cage is now a dad to a vibrant six year old Gracie. Both Presley and Cage need to work through the issues they never worked out. Eventually they are forced to spend a long period of time together when they are snowed in on a day of love, so what is the logical resolution? They decide to just be friends with benefits while she is in town.
This was the stories I wanted to must and it did not disappoint. This book was jam packed with emotions and humour so it gave the best environment for healing. I am so sad to say goodbye to the Reynolds family they were so sweet and wholesome. I loved seeing Presley bond with Miss Gracie, it was so sweet and seeing Gracie just absolutely accept Presley was the best. It was so nice to see a child okay with their dads new partner and actively want to share his heart. Not to mention the tattoos! I could not cope. There was something about Presleys story that really spoke to me on a soul level and I felt so freaking seen.

The gruff and sometimes short single dad of the Reynolds family has had one main focus since the birth of his daughter Gracie, and that’s to give her the best life possible. Even if that means putting his happiness second.
When the love of his life comes back into town, Cage has a chance to see what life could have been like if timing was on their side for once.
Presley was the one that got away, and Cage would do just about anything to keep her this time around, but choosing happiness becomes hard when he starts to factor in how different their lives are and how keeping Presley will effect Gracie.
This is a story of second chance love and how moving mountains is possible if you just choose to pick the love and happiness of those around you above all else.
The perfect ending to Cottonwood Cove
