Loved it!

I almost passed on this book because of the bad reviews. I am glad I didn’t. Loved the characters, loved the story with all the dark and light parts. It was a fulfilling and well deserved Happily Ever After. The narration was very enjoyable. Another Kristen Ashley highly recommended audiobook.

Always love Kristen Ashley but this one is flat

Kristen Ashley is my favorite author so none of her books are passed over by me. However, this one had a few too many inner and outward monologues and too little action. Kristen is the queen of situational and character self reflection. Unfortunately, there was too much of both, even for me. It started to seem self indulgent for the characters to go on and on in a way that was less realistic and more psychologist’s couch worthy.

Unexpected beginnings can be do found in the middl

So incredibly impressed of a smartly written storyline of the over 50 world. Realistic in many ways including to the loss of muscle yet the love was still there , but better, mature, not taking it for granted. Bowie and Genny torn apart by a lie for 28 years buildjng lives separately and living those years all in, until life finds them both single, and the lie uncovered . over 50 is not over life. it is when you see what really is important and realize that there is a choice of how to live.

Another great series in the making.

A wonderful story of sadness, heartbreak and second chances. I look forward to listening to the development of each of Jen and Brodie's children.

Felt less than fully developed.

The story needed more to it. The plot lines weren’t very deep or twisty. It had the beginnings of being as great as most of KA’s stories are, but it just didn’t get all the way there. I feel like I listened to a draft-not a first draft, but a draft nonetheless. Also, that one male narrator needs a different voice for women; I’ve heard this one before and didn’t love it then either. The main character started off as so elegant with the female narrator, who happens to be one of my favorite, and by the end the male narrator has her sounding as if she were a vapid character, just saying non-vapid things. This was good for as far as it went, but it left me wanting more, and not in the good way.

Fantastic feels

Adore this second chance romance. KA always comes with the writing. It was believable in the rocky parts, emotional and rewarding when you get to the resolution. However, voice performance was surprisingly amateur. It devolved to sing-song cadences with few moments of actual performance. Surprising choice of tempo for a KA book. Recommend reading the book as opposed to listening.

Kristen Ashley magic

Secrets, betrayal, acceptance, and a second chance at true love is brought to life with this amazing book. Kristen Ashley, once again, delivers a tale that becomes real. The characters and story line hooked me fast and deep and the narrators gave them a voice to remember.

Another example of why Kristen Ashley is a master story teller

This book is just one more example of why Kristen Ashley fans are so devoted to her stories. The story was so rich and the characters so deep and the just the way Kristen wove the twists and turns of the plot to get to the HEA! Classic Kristen Ashley. In case it’s not mentioned anywhere else - this book was written as a gift to her readers and originally published in electronic version either for free or greatly reduced price to help everyone cope with being cooped up during the Covid 19 pandemic. I can’t think of another writer that loves her fans more! The narration of this book with 4 performers was a joy to listen. I’m a huge fan of Stella Bloom. She never fails to deliver. The others were new to me but I really enjoyed them too. Totally recommend this book and and if by chance this is your first KA novel - this is the tip of the iceberg of goodness that awaits in the other KA series. I so wish I could go back and read them all as a first time reader. Alas I’m reread many of the books - some 4 and 5 times. Yes they are all really that good! Happy reading rock on!
