Great Intro to Make Your Bed & Sea Stories

This interview is an excellent intro to Admiral McRaven's "Make Your Bed" and "Sea Stories", both on Audible.
I highly recommend reading both. The Admirals analogy of the Rubber duckie is one of many that will inspire you and change your life.

I make my bed and it is square, I sing in the ocean in winter (Southern ocean) and I am part of an effective team who have made it our mission enhance and change the lives of others.

Bill, I have sugar coated and Embrace the Suck. you helped change my life.
Anything by Admiral McRaven should be on your must-read list
Highly recommended.

The Great Admiral W. McRaven Explains

Admiral McRaven, who’s reputation precedes him, gives insight into his difficulties writing the Legendary Commencement Address of 2014! With the urging of his wife, the Admiral reaches back to the lessons he learned from his indoctrination into Navy SEAL training in Coronado, CA. BUDS, as it is called, has the highest attrition rate of any Special Force training in the US Armed Forces. The basic lessons he learned from his past has shaped his outlook and compassion for all humans irrespective of military experience, gender or just plain whatever. Being a good representative of humanity by being your best, has proven, once again, you can change the world if you put your mind to the task! Anything is possible, you just need to try. Ho Rah! Fly Navy!

Admiral Mc Raven

Awesome Interview with Admiral William H Mc Raven great life lessons. Recounting his experience in the NSWC was great way to make it understood that everyone has been through some sort of negative situation in the past, it’s just if you give up or not and learn from your own mistakes and NOT GIVE UP

Bin Laden killer wites self help book

Admiral Mc Raven's claim to fame is that he lead and executed Operation Neptune Spear that lead to the death of Osama Bin Laden. He is now retired from the military and has decided to write a self help book and this short interview is a puff to promote it. At first I thought that this might be a Steve Coogan / Sasha Baron Cohen type spoof as the whole concept sounded too far fetched to be taken seriously. The Admiral's delivery reminded me of the "Hi I'm Ed Winchester" character from the Fast Show but, having looked him up, apparently this is genuine. The Admiral gives confident and precise answers to the scripted questions until the end when he is asked why he read the book himself rather than getting a professional voice actor and he ums and erms an answer that is not too convincing and seems to have taken him by surprise. Perhaps more military planning was needed.
