Abends nach Neun kann man ihn mit seinem Saxofon in der City von Leipzig treffen. Seine Musik ist so eigenwillig, humorvoll, unverwechselbar wie er selbst: Winfried Völlger. In den 80er-Jahren war er eine literarische Berühmtheit in der DDR, sein Roman "Das Windhahn-Syndrom" erreichte dort eine Auflage von 40.000. 1989 gehörte er zu den Köpfen der Opposition, inzwischen ist er fast vergessen. Wer heute eine Münze in seinen Hut wirft, zollt ihm jenes Maß direkter Aufmerksamkeit, das für Völlger wichtiger geworden ist als der Literaturbetrieb. Zugleich unterstützt jeder Zuhörer mit seiner Gabe ein ganz besonderes musikwissenschaftliches Projekt.
