Story
It was supposed to be just another mission. Buried deep in the rugged Alaskan wilderness lies a secret that could alter the future of mankind - a secret that billionaire Elizabeth Grey has invested millions in solving. But when the dig goes silent, an elite team of battle-hardened military contractors is brought in led by former Marine Max Ahlgren. While the mission to make contact and rescue a team of scientists and engineers working on an “archeological” project seems like an easy payday, once on ground, the team discovers the grizzly truth that this is no ordinary rescue.

Story
100,000 years ago the object hit the lake at the deepest point, quickly sinking into its mile-deep Stygian darkness. The sheets of ice closed, time moved on and the land forgot. But over the centuries, legends grew of people vanishing, of strange, deformed animals and of an unexplained luminescence down in the lake depths. When Marcus Stenson won the lucrative contract to create a sturgeon fish farm on the site of disused paper mill on the shore of Lake Baikal, he thought he had won the lottery and refused to listen to the chilling folktales....

Story
Two hundred years ago, aliens invaded Earth. A violent war followed. The enemy won. Some of us escaped, most of us didn’t. On Proxima they flourished - the invasion forgotten. On Earth we floundered - the horror began. Their world is advanced, peaceful, and secure. Our world is broken, savage, and overrun. A new invasion is coming. A hunger that has swallowed half the universe. They don’t care which planet we live on. They want to end us all. But where there is life, there is hope. And where there is hope, there are heroes. This time, vengeance will be ours.

If you liked books one and two, you'll like this.
Apparently cockneys now have Aussie accents, otherwise well read.
The book is an extension of numbers one and two of the series and a bit too much time is spent rehashing the previous books through Max's dreams. Great if you're reading this as a stand alone book, otherwise tedious.

Good but kinda Anticlimactic.
Now before I wake up yo see Max standing over me hear me out. This is not a bad book it's well paced keeps good action and leaves the door open in the mind and waiting for more. Here's where it loses me and maybe others. reread the first book and the second one listen to that no hope, no escape scenario. That's what I loved and this, this just makes you feel like something is missing.
Its sometimes hard to find new stakes to be raised and honestly dinosaurs and the lizard men just didn't leave that same feeling. I leave this review as my opinion and I love the series but like with most series and franchises... if you can't raise the stakes in the third book, movie, or game then leave it alone till you can.

Really enjoyed the 1st book like honestly would recommend to anyone a real joy. Hadme dying to find out what where how ect the 2nd was a great adjustment to the first book.
This one I just couldn't/can't get into it. So much so I couldn't continue listening. I may go back and force myself to make it to the end now the 4th book is out,
