Publisher's Summary

New York Times best-selling author Ted Dekker delivers the gripping story of Maviah, a slave who becomes a queen in Arabia in AD 33.

They call her the Queen of the Outcasts. Maviah, a woman whose fate was sealed on her birth by this world - unwanted, illegitimate, female, a slave - subject to the whims of all. But then she met a man named Yeshua who opened her eyes. She found strength in his words, peace from the brutal word around her. Because of what he taught her, she has gathered her own traveling kingdom of outcasts deep in the desert, wielding an authority few have seen. But when her growing power threatens the rulers around her, they set out to crush all she loves, leaving her reeling as a slave once more. She must find Yeshua to save her people, but when she does, she will be horrified to discover that he faces his own death.

Enter a story full of intrigue, heart-wrenching defeat, uncompromising love, and staggering victory - one that reexamines everything you thought you knew about the heart of Jesus' stunning message and the power that follows for those who follow his easily forgotten way.

Another brilliant story by Dekker

Understand what it means to really surrender all to Jesus. Ted has a special gift to illuminate spiritual truths through fiction. Loved it!

A.D. 33

Excellent !!! This is a novel of God's supernatural power at work, but not of some other-worldly manifestations. Simply of what He promised in His Word. I think the most important work is what He is doing to overcome our unbelief and to prepare our hearts to become what He intended us to be. At least that is true for me. Most of the time it isn't easy for me to "Let go and let God" even though the struggle is mostly in my thought life. This book skillfully relates the attribute of God's faithfulness in our every day lives.

I think it is well worth the credit.

Gripping

Both this and the previous book are page turning stories. The narration is one of the best I have heard in audible. You will not be disappointed.

Life changing

I have a completely different view of my life and living in the way of Jesus Christ after reading AD 30 and AD 33. Thank you, Ted. Thank you!

The story was realistic and entertaining. But the reality of the message is life- changing on so many levels!

Oddly compelling

Entirely fanciful and barely believable plot basis, almost unable to get through the first few chapters. I held on for the religious insights that do come quite strongly at the end

Thank You, Mr. Dekker

What does Ellen Archer bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She stays out of the way. She is an incredible narrator.

Any additional comments?

I know that this story is called a work of fiction, but it is so scriptually and historically accurate that one could easily assume that all the characters are in the Bible. This is a continuation of 30A.D. ;obviously, and is based on the drama of those characters lives. I am not sure that I was as taken by their situation as much as by their encounters with Jesus himself. Ted out did his best work in conveying the emotion of non-jews coming in contact with the messiah. I found myself tearing up. The discription of accounts was masterfully done. The usage of actual Bible men and women was genius. And the ending made me breathless. Thank you Lord for giving this gift to Ted Dekker to write down for us. I won't ruin even a second of this sequel by giving anymore than my two cent in a very humbled opinion. But, if you are a Bible believing Christian this book is a gift for you.

Hey I wrote a review

Greetings fellow readers. I'm not the type of person that likes to write reviews though I enjoy reading them. This book was so good that I thought I will spend a moment to encourage those of you who haven't read it or listen to it to do so. First of all the lady who actually reads the book does one of the most amazing jobs I have ever heard. She absolutely brings this story to life and if I wrote a book and needed someone to read it, I definitely would hire her.
Now for the story. I truly enjoyed AD30 but I couldn't imagine the sequel being much better but it so was. I believe identity is one of the most important aspects of the Christian life and that was the conclusion to the whole book. Ted really made me again consider in such a deep way of how awesome, real and loving Jesus/the Father is. I think it will really give an amazing jolt to your Christian life. My question is is why aren't we experiencing Jesus like they did in the first century. We have it all, it's been paid for in full. Oh God, may you open our hearts and eyes to all that you've given us in Jesus. Thanks Ted for your deep deep study of the life of Jesus and to put it in such an artistic way/this novel. God bless you

Gripping to the end

What an amazing story based on some historical fact and the Bible. As a Christian I found new revelation and faith. I did not know how it would end and indeed did not want it to! The narrator had a beautiful voice and I was able to believe every character
