Summary

The moment he saw her at the assembly in Meryton, he knew he loved her.

When Fitzwilliam Darcy meets Elizabeth bennet in the fateful autumn of 1811, their mutual infatuation is immediate and undeniable. Within months, they are married and spend a blissful winter at Pemberley, falling more deeply in love with each other than either might have imagined possible. But spring in London proves more challenging to them. Accident and artifice join to devastating effect for the young couple, destroying their felicity and creating an outcome neither might have imagined.

Two years later, happenstance reunites them. Sorrow and anger have built walls between them but the love they once shared still remains. Will it be enough to conquer the sins of the past? Is the love they still hold within them strong enough to prevail over the anger and mistrust that tore them apart?

It took me a little while to really enjoy the story, but once I did, I found it very enjoyable. The characters were well rounded, lots of action, with many side stories going on. It was good to see both Elizabeth and Darcy overcome their fears, misunderstandings, running through the gamut of emotions, with their underlying love for each other fighting with their other emotions.
The twists and turns were very well done. I could empathise with them. I was engrossed & found myself rewinding several times when my attention was lost elsewhere.
A great listen

An interesting alternative tale

Story was good. Total escapism in the level of emotional growth displayed by a regency era man - but I guess that was kind of the point originally. Still lovely though. Always love the way Amy D’Orazio explores one over arching theme from the OG and makes it accessible.

Brilliant performance as usual from Stevie Zimmerman

A bit of a different story line than the usual....great writing and narration. happy to see Caroline Bingley step up to be more of a villain! lol

Great

Great storyline- prepare for angst. At one point I despised Darcy and thought there was no chance of redemption. Luckily Elizabeth didn’t agree…

Delightfully heart wrenching.

An interesting story that made a few points. That domestic violence is OK, so long as one is sorry, and /or handsome.
That Darcy is the twit I always feared. That this Elizabeth is no better than Lydia (for forgiving him). Having had my rant, I will say, I did enjoy the story overall, with the above exceptions.
