Publisher's Summary

Simon Weston grew up royal in a place where aristocracy still mattered. Serving Queen and country meant everything to him, until MI6 marked him as damaged goods and he left his home in disgrace. Ian Taggart showed him a better way to serve his fellow man and introduced him to Sanctum, a place to pursue his passion for dominance and submission. Topping beautiful subs was a lovely distraction until he met Chelsea, and becoming her master turned into Simon's most important mission.

Chelsea Dennis grew up a pawn to the Russian mob. Her father's violent lessons taught her that monsters lurked inside every man and they should never be trusted. Hiding in the shadows, she became something that even the monsters would fear - an information broker who exposed their dirty secrets and toppled their empires. Everything changed when Simon Weston crossed her path. Valiant and faithful, he was everything she needed - and a risk she couldn't afford to take.

When dark forces from her past threaten her newfound family at Sanctum, Chelsea must turn to Simon, the one man she can trust with her darkest secrets. Their only chance to survive lies in a mystery even Chelsea has been unable to solve. As they race to uncover the truth and stay one step ahead of the assassins on their heels, they will discover a love too powerful to deny. But to stop a killer, Simon just might have to sacrifice himself.

The sensitive Brit and the stubborn sub!!

I adore the M&M series and this addition is everything I could have ever asked for. I loved Simon from his first introduction back in Liam and Avery's book and it was thrilling to finally see him meet his match in the wonderful (but broken) Chelsea. These two shouldn't make sense and yet they do on every single level. Simon is the light to Chelsea's dark and together they bring out the best in one another. Add is some twists and turns to the suspense plot that I didn't see coming AND the addition of some family members that no one knew existed before this story (except for that sneaky Tennessee Smith) ... well this is a story I won't forget for a long time. And Ryan West once again makes this story a totally brilliant one to listen to. His ability to give every single character a different voice - one you can really hear! - is amazing and his female voices are just as wonderful!!

Wow

Lexi does it again, big tag will have you smiling and sometimes giggling with his one liners. These two characters grow and find themselves with each other's help. Of course there is a mission included to keep the heart pumping. Ryan West narrates this book so well.

YUM.... A hot Brit... need I say more???

Lexi Blake never fails to disappoint with another tale of truly hot sex, suspense and mayhem. This time we get the story of the UBER HOT Brit Simon Weston who has a pension for the power and passion that comes from a lifestyle in the BDSM world. Simon has his sites set on Chelsea Dennis who has pushed him away and ran at every turn. However, the struggle for power is once again broken down by the ever present contracts in the BDSM world. They are thrown together by circumstance however, in the end you'll be surprised how things turn out.
I'm once again bowled over by the phenomenal job that Ryan West had done to bring the story alive. He's truly a Master and sweet baby Jesus... his Dom voice is enough to give anyone extreme panty melting wet dreams. This installment being no exception!!! I can't wait for the next book to come out since it looks like we will finally get to hear Jesse's story... I just pray that it comes fast. Is it too much to hope this would be my Christmas present????? Pretty please Ms Blake.... with who cream, chocolate, sprinkles and all...the more the better for a truly amazing BDSM feast..... YUM!!! 💞

LOVE IT

I can't get enough Simon and Chelsea are the cutest couple.... It just took for Chelsea to get a bomb threat on her life that cause her to trust Simon with her life... Once they both realized that their childhood was almost the same with not having very much love from their families, it was so cute seeing they work through their issues about trust and what love really means to them and once they got that figured out is was smooth sealing from there.. I can't get enough of the Master and Mercenaries series

Story Irritating but Narration Was Great.

I like the series. I am hooked on the Taggert - McCay team. The series is good guys vs. bad guys, good vs. evil. The good guys come out on top, but there is always a struggle. This book was no different. It was just Simon and Chelsea's turn. I do enjoy listening to Ryan West as he goes through the different accents. You can easily pick out each character based on voice along with level of snarkiness. Simon and Chelsea's book was not my favorite, but it was still a decent read. I understand people have baggage and insecurities, but for these people to play in the international spy game, they are some of the most overly sensitive people that have ever been found. It's exhausting. Every single time Simon and Chelsea grew closer, one of the other would say some that would be misconstrued, and force them apart again. I don't mind the push and pull, but I would like this book so much better if that had been reduced and more time had been given to them being together having settled their insecurities. I didn't care for Chelsea. She was totally unprepared to play on the same field as her sister. She was made out to be tougher in the previous books. I would rather have her be tougher and not really likable that turn into the ditz who reacted emotionally to almost EVERY SINGLE THING in this book. I did like Simon, but him being "Dom Like" was inconsistent to the point of me forgetting he was supposed to be a dom. I guess the basis of the romance in this book has to do with the chase, but it would be great to have some time with the main characters being together before you get the lead in to the next book. Just one woman's opinion.

Can't go wrong with Masters and Mercenaries

Simon and Chelsea's story -- I love following the McKay Taggart clan and their fights against all comers even themselves when it comes to love. Lexi Blake is a master storyteller and Ryan West is one of the best narrators in the business. He makes the books come alive. Well worth the listen, your time, and a credit.

Narrator Great with Differentiating Characters

The narrator is great with all the different characters, it was easy to keep up with who was speaking. I can't finish this book, Chelsea is such a neurotic, self-absorbed twit that what should be an enjoyable escape (for me) is so annoying as to be stressful. It would be enjoyable if Simon would toss her out the door and let the collective shoot her, or just let her walk out the door and be captured. She acts like a spoiled brat and can't make good decisions. Simon is correct when he says she has a cycle of self-pity and then martyrdom, and it got old very quickly. I really hate to not hear the author's development of Simon's character and love story but not at the price of having to tolerate any more about Chelsea. Toodles, Chelsea.

good story

I like the evolution of the series, that started out as BDSM books with a story written around it, filling in the gaps, they have become interesting stories with some BDSM thrown in.

Lacks chemistry

Narrator is great especially with accents but the female voices he does are annoying. I had trouble imagining what the female lead looked like bc of the constant reminder of how “unattractive” and crippled she was. Plus, I couldn’t find any chemistry b/t the leads like I could with the previous books. Not my favorite of the series. Looking forward to the next one.
