Publisher's Summary

The electrifying new thriller from Shari Lapena, author of the Sunday Times best seller The Couple Next Door.

Why would you run scared from a happy home?

You're waiting for your beloved husband to get home from work. You're making dinner, looking forward to hearing about his day.

That's the last thing you remember.

You wake up in hospital, with no idea how you got there. They tell you that you were in an accident; you lost control of your car whilst driving in a dangerous part of town.

The police suspect you were up to no good. But your husband refuses to believe it. Your best friend isn't so sure. And even you don't know what to believe....

oh how I love a book with a good twist

after listening to a couple next door I was hoping this would be just as good. I was almost rolling my eyes half way through as it seemed so obvious where the book was going then bam! the twist came in and another and another. this is now in my top 10 👌

It’s ok

An easy ‘listen’, but a bit disappointing after reading The Couple Next Door. This is a fairly predictable psychological thriller where (frustratingly) the main character has amnesia and the slow reveals, as her memory returns, are things you’ve probably already guessed. All characters were pretty boring, but none so much as Tom - he was so benign and, quite frankly, an idiot.
I was hoping for a big twist at the end, and although there were some small surprises, it fell flat.

Really disappointed

I was a huge fan of the authors first book. This was honestly a load of rubbish. The first few chapters were gripping and I had a feeling I was on a good run. The twists are not very twisty. very predictable in a very bad way. I actually hated this book. The narrator did a great job, the story was just crap. I wonder what the narrator thought of it. hmm

Ordinary

Not interesting at all; boring;
Narrative was good; story line slow and predictable better luck next time with the author.

Boooooring and predictible

The most boring and predictable story ever! The characters are unbelievably infantile and the "twist" is just ridiculous.

Well narrated

Great narration.
