About this listen

If I had to pick a bride of convenience, my first choice would not be Peach Maloney.

My 50th choice would not be Peach. Top spot on my list of occupational hazards? Yes. Royal pain in the crumpets? Yes. A bride of convenience? No.

But I've unexpectedly gone from royal bodyguard to monarch, having inherited a crown that was stolen from my family long before my birth. The kicker of this unexpected royal gift? In order to take the throne, I must find a wife.

Have I mentioned Peach would not have been my hundredth choice? But I've no other options, and she needs a favor that my new position can fulfill quite nicely. So we've agreed to play the doting newlyweds out in public.

In private, though, our rules are simple: No touching. No talking. And certainly no sex.

I should have known better than to marry a rule-breaker. Contains mature themes.

I found the beginning of this book strange and couldn't get into it at all but stuck with it and glad I did. Enjoyed the rest of the book and was very funny.

Beautifully written and performed. Lots of laughs but lots of tender moments and Peach and Victor’s chemistry was scorching.

I adore Pippa Grant’s books and this one is no exception. I was laughing and drawn into the story from the first page. The narrators are quite perfect, especially Victor! So good!!

A great story with humour, craziness and spice!

The story had some hilarious antics albeit unrealistic at times but it was enjoyable to listen to.
Steven Dexter however, who I normally enjoy listening to didn’t pull off an English accent very well at all which made his character not quite relatable.

Ridiculous and funny

Narration was excellent at bringing this storyline to life with their accents and reading pace.
I found myself laughing more than I would have expected.
Story was well written with highs and lows, romantically sexy and great character development.
A real joy to listen to and highly recommend it.

Funny, sexy and great storyline

First the names Peach and Papaya. All I can think of is Lemon and Magnolia from Hart of Dixie.
As a parent, Peach's cushioning the necessary discipline of Papaya frustrated me to no end.
I loved Victor's plentiful euphemisms for his 'twig and berries'.
Meemaw had the potential to be a hilarious character and I feel like she was wasted.

Some parts of this dragged. Some parts (like the hole-poked-condoms) irritated me.

Love the idea of a gay king turning his country into somewhat of a matriarchy.

I have so many mixed feelings.
