Publisher's Summary

This cowboy has given up on love, but the new nanny might just make him change his mind. The first in a brand new series from New York Times best-selling author Vivian Arend.

A stand-alone romance novel!

Caleb Stone is wearing too many hats, and it’s making him crankier than usual. He’s a cowboy, a father, and the head of his large family - and has been since tragedy claimed his parents over 10 years ago. The ranch is struggling, but it's the title of single dad that’s got him tangled up in knots. He needs a full-time live-in nanny at the Silver Stone homestead in Heart Falls, Alberta, to help with his two little girls, but the woman about to arrive on his doorstep? Tantalizing, tempting, and trouble with capital T’s.

Tamara Coleman doesn’t regret the choices that led to losing her job, but she definitely needs a fresh start. When a friend recommends her for a nanny position in a new town, she swears this time it’ll be different. No more acting on impulse - except sexy, gruff Caleb is exactly the kind of man who pushes all her buttons. And what’s more, it’s so much fun to push his in return. Sparks fly between Tamara and her gorgeous boss, but she can’t risk her position, and he doesn’t dare risk his heart.

With two people fighting their true natures, something’s going to give. Luckily, there’s more than one way to capture a rancher’s heart.

Really enjoyed the story

I really enjoyed the Heart Falls Book 1 much better than the explicit adult sex in the Rocky Mountain Stories that I've read so far. I don't need/want all the explicit sex and variations in a story. Not a prude, just have lived it and really want a good story not filler to my way of thinking. In the beginning of a relationship, it's the honeymoon of heat and thinking only of sex. As the relationship matures and blooms, it becomes about so much more - that's the story.
I really enjoyed the girls, Sasha and Emma, and how they contributed to this story. Sasha didn't open up right away and was very much the protective daddy girl. Very normal in this situation and speaking for her sister was sit on too. Emma's slow transition to talking and accepting her was heart tugging - and when both girls told her that they loved her, oh my! Caleb's own resistance to Tamara after his ex-wife is totally understandable. Especially since he was not thinking about dating at all.
I loved that his brothers and her sisters were constantly involved showing that they both have closer families. Caleb and Tamara navigate the sexual tension between them to find out if there's more between them so that they don't hurt two little girls who have been through so much. This is a prime example of being a parent and being adults. They also arranged it so that the girls were having a great time when they decided they needed time to themselves.
There were many excellent layers to this story and the narrators did an excellent job narrating. I'm looking forward to the next book.

Sweet and Heart-wrenching

Tamara and Caleb give us a sweet but heart-wrenching love story. What Caleb’s ex did to his daughters, the verbal abuse, will make you cry. Tamara is just what all the Stones need. Good performance by Tatiana Sokolov.

It was okay

I did enjoy the story but I gave up with an one and half hours to go because I didn’t really care anymore. The narrator seemed to be reading a bit fast. If you like the family aspect a lot than your probably like this. Personally I felt it went on and on about the kids and then completely skipped over changing of settings making me confused.

A great start to the series!

I love the way Vivian brings the family's altogether. I can not wait to hear the rest of the brothers stories. Ranchers and cowboys are the best stores in my opinion.
