Publisher's Summary
Two Old Testament women want to be loved by their shared husband - and to bear children. To what lengths will they go to get what they want most, and will either find her heart's desire?
Hannah and her husband, Elkanah, share a deep and abiding love, for each other, for their God, and for his tabernacle at Shiloh. Greatly disturbed by the corruption of the priests, they long for restoration and pray for a deliverer. But nothing changes as the years pass. Years that also reveal Hannah to be barren.
Pressured by his family to take another wife, Elkanah marries Peninnah, who quickly begins to bear children. Disgraced and taunted by her husband's new wife, Hannah turns again to prayers that seem doomed to go unanswered. Do her devotion and kindness in the face of Peninnah's cruelty count for nothing? Why does God remain silent and indifferent to her pleas?
Travel back to the dusty streets of Shiloh with an expert guide as Jill Eileen Smith brings to life a beloved story of hope, patience, and deliverance that shows that even the most broken of relationships can be restored.

loved this book and narration
I will read more of her books! So many writers try to be extra dramatic, telling about everybodys eyes and face and so on. I love the way this writer tells the story and gives you just enough information to figure out for yourself what the characters are feeling. Loved it!

Before there was Job there was Hannah
A beautifully weaved story of God's love and faithfulness. Hannah loved God so much that she waited over 20 years for God's promise. I marveled at her commitment to remain prayerful and hopeful even when her rival taunted her and made her feel worthless. This story will restore your hope in Adonai and renew your strength in him.
Well done to the narrator Stina Nielsen, who captured the emotions of Hannah in a cinematic way that opens your heart and mind to the voice of God within you.

Beautiful story
Helps me to understand how human people were in the Old Testament just like today, decisions that are made that are selfish sometimes that will hurt all around us, and how a God still because of His Rich mercy is faithful to make a beautiful story out of our lives; especially when we allow Him to!
