Wow, the story enabled me to identify and live with those women back then and the times they lived it. It helped me to understand the customs and how their belief in God was central in their lives. Having a religion and faith was important then and central to peoples lives. Not so much these days. It is a treasure to see how God has always been faithful to His people down through the centuries and still walks with us today. A book I recommend.

Francine has a wonderful way of fleshing out the real people in the Bible and showing possible struggles previously judged people could've had and helping to show that no matter our struggles (andthey will come), God will always be present and guide, protect, forgive, love and make a way through.

This book was so so lovely, easy to get hooked ! I enjoyed it so much I listened to it in a few short days on holidays Interstate. Way it is written makes you feel every emotion of the characters. Now into another of her books can't wait !

Loved listening to these stories of amazing women in the bible. Most of them only get a short mention, but the way the author tells the story can make us imagine how it really was. My only negative is the narrator. Her pronouncing of a lot of words is very odd and can distract from the story.

This is the combined version of the books that are seperately recorded as well - which seems to be better performed from the samples. I wanted to use my credit on one and opted for it instead of using 5 credits for the individual books. It was an odd delivery, the narrator was at times akward and I lost the flow of the story quite often but it was bearable - the story was overpowering and I listened the whole way through. If you prefer a brilliant delivery though, go with the originals.
