About this listen

A missing agent. A sinister group. A deadly storm.

Can it get any worse?

Special Agent Jo Pullinger needs a well-deserved break. She agrees to drive a fellow agent, Edward Swann, to his new job in Boise, Idaho. She figures the long drive will give her time to clear mind and get some fresh air.

Halfway through their trip, a massive snowstorm forces Jo and her fellow agents into the town of Lapse, Oregon. The town seems abandoned, but they find a hotel and take up lodgings. They decide to wait out the storm and continue their journey the next day.

When morning hits, Jo finds Swann is not in his room. Soon, their search reveals that Swann and a waitress from the local diner were ambushed in their car. Someone had forcibly taken them both. But why?

As Jo scours for her colleague, she has no idea a sinister group has deadly plans for Swann—one involving a symbolic sacrifice.

Fans of James Patterson, David Baldacci, and Harlan Coben will love this new series!
