Publisher's Summary

For as long as I can remember, I've been the girl who didn't fit in, the girl who collapsed in the middle of class, just because my brain decided to turn on me. I can't really complain, though. We don't live in the Middle Ages, so I have yet to be subjected to an exorcism. I can get treatment for my condition. Epilepsy aside, I can mostly be a normal person and have a normal life.

There's just one problem. I'm not a normal person. I never have been. And the first time I find this out is upon receiving an exclusive invitation to The Academy of the Devil.

Unfortunately, The Academy of the Devil isn't like other schools and the current princes of the school have a lot of experience in ripping whatever contender they have to shreds. All of them despise humans. All of them sneer at anyone who displays any kind of weakness. All of them hate me and everything I stand for. That's fine. I don't need friends, lovers, or even valued mentors. All I need is to survive my school years with my soul, my sanity and my brain intact. It'll be a challenge, but I've dealt with worse. I might not be ready for the Academy of the Devil, but they're not ready for me either.

Contains mature themes.

Great Read

This book definitely had an awesome mix of highschool and the paranormal. This book is about a girl who has epilepsy and is forced into a school filled with demons where her illness is a weakness that cannot be revealed. At the school, Alyssa - the female protagonist - meets the 'princes' of the school who are the boys most likely to become satan. She has to discover if what she feels for these boys could lead anywhere or if it is simply just a fleeting attraction. This is all happening while at every turn, Alyssa could easily end up dead and no one at the school would care. I listened to this as an audiobook and definitely found it enjoyable to listen to. The narration definitely added more character to the characters. If you think you will like this book, give it ago and maybe you will find you like it just as much as I do.

Meh

It was meandering all over the place with the plot and most solutions to the problems used Deus ex machina type resolution that were kinda annoying. Characters were rather inconsistent too. Yet...I finished it. Something kept me listening to the end despite rolling my eyes over and over. I don't usually bother with books that have that many problems so the writing is actually quite good. Or rather, the author's voice is. Narrator wasn't bad but chose some strange pauses from time to time? Following bad punctuation, maybe? 🤷

Great Dark RH bully Romance

I am a RH addict. As such i can honestly say that i enjoyed this series when i read it, and find it equally as enjoyable to listen to. The start is a little slow for me but by the end of the first book i was invested. Later it is a darker very dirty romance, and i can't wait to hear more.

A review after reading 3 books in the series

It wasn't bad, but it wasn't all that great either. I feel like it could have been better, it just felt kinda childish, but these books arn't for children, there's lots (when I say lots I mean it) of se x. Oral, vaginal, anal. Kinky kinky se x, oh and dirty name calling (which isn't my thing). I don't know if there will be a book 4, kinda felt like at the end it was implying there would be a new mc. The only problem with assuming that is that all throughout the series there's constantly questions popping up that the mc says she needs to ask about later but then never does. It's the type of book that if I would've read the first book and the other 2 weren't out yet, I wouldn't have bothered waiting around for them, so even if there is a new one coming out I can say I won't be reading it. Just too lackluster, unimmersive. I can say I had a nightmare last night involving crazed murdering angels and heads getting cut off 😅 so I suppose it had some kind of effect on me lol

Devilishly Good!

I loved Alyssa's sass and sarcasm, she's faced with attending the 'Devil's Acadamy' because of an ancestors choices, nobody likes her but she doesn't care, she just has to get through her three years and leave. I cried when everyone turned against her because of a 'fit', but she just picked herself up and carried on! I can't wait to start book 2!

Worth reading

Really enjoyed the story behind this one. Different to the other RH books I've read. Narration is a bit slow so stuck to mainly reading.
